National law schools, as much as all law schools are fertile grounds for communal indoctrination and then attacks on the constitution. This will be due to the the existing politics of hatred, a toxic media ecology, partisan control of institutions -- that all will lead to targeted engagement and influence. It will be through events, talks, lectures and eventually activities within the curriculum of the law school. Such students will become lawyers, and then lawyers will become judges. Our constitution will be administered by theological judges, practiced by theological lawyers and studied by theological law students.

One clear way to resist such attacks against the constitution is by organising and opening clubs and societies that are based in constitutional values. Organising regular activities, inviting speakers (even over Zoom), book readings or for those who are more ambitious and receive institutional support even a moot court competition. About three and half years ago (Feb. 2020), a bunch of lawyers, @gautambhatia88 @abhinavsekhri10 principally supported the creation of societies in atleast two law schools. Even, I participated in some of these sessions, drew up a plan, but failed to give it time as I was completely invested in IFF. I believe we (speaking mostly about me here) also failed to build broader solidarity that was intentioned. Gradually all of this petered out -- there were pressing issues of public interest (the urgent as it often does, became the important).

I am posting screenshots of a draft charter that was primarily drafted by Gautam for the reference of students in law schools to define the values of the society. Also, pasting a draft plan I came up with that was never implemented. I hope if people have energy they can take it up, and law students who are passionate about constitutional values in some way are able to utilise the charter.
