A Kenyan political cycle: 1. Several motley parties form a pre election coalition.
2. said coalition wins power and distribution of spoils/ patronage occurs.
3. A sudden urge to fold all parties into a single mega one grips the president&inner circe.
4. Rinse and repeat. 🤔😭
Colleague senators and seven other human rights defenders have taken the Affordable Housing Act to court seeking to quash it in its entirety.
We specifically take issue with a section of the new Act that seeks to appoint the Commissioner General of KRA as the collector of the affordable housing levy, and sections 4 and 5 of the Act, which impose the levy.
The Commissioner-General of the Kenya Revenue Authority cannot be the collector of Affordable Housing Levy as his responsibilities are strictly restricted to the affairs of the Authority.
These utterances of extending Presidential term limits, let's not take them for granted.
Note the executive controls both houses and has tendency of ignoring court orders, they may decide to change CoK
Without strong opposition, we may go back to Moi era

That's the whole point of NADCO & the shameful conduct of some individuals in the so-called opposition. The plan is to amend the Constitution via parliamentary initiative & abuse Articles 2(3) & 116(2) to defeat legal challenges. Our saving grace is strong political pushback.

No one should die for criticising, insulting or even exposing a politician. Even God Almighty doesn’t murder those who criticise Him. Ruto should remind politicians that every citizen is guaranteed freedom of speech.Anyone who gets offended shouldn't commit murder but go to court

According to @Donsarigo investigation, the toxic waste was dumped in Kargi, Marsabit. From the hydrology of the area, the toxic water must have found it's way to Milgis river polluting ground water all the way to Lorian swamp. Disastrous treason by those entrusted with power

Dictators always try to take away more of your rights. If you think you're worse off today under a dictatorship, just know it will get even worse in the future. Dictatorships never evolve into freedom and liberty; they only strip more of these from you.
