Flying with precision and creating patterns in the air is a challenging task. #AAI's #FIU aircraft #VTCNS flown by Capt Katoch & Capt Joglekar, Capt Punia successfully completed the calibration of #DVOR/DME "KLP" with ATSEPs LN Prasad, Mohit Kant Sharma and Hardeep Singh onboard.

#AAI is installing as well as modernizing the already installed ground navigational & landing systems across all its airports to prioritise safety for aircraft operations. In line with the same, at #KolhapurAirport @aa@aaikolhaairport the organisation recently commenced installation of Doppler Very High Frequency Omni Directional Range #DVOR and Distance Measuring Equipment #DME replacing the Non Directional Beacon by the Radio Construction & Development Unit.

This newly installed facility will soon be calibrated by a team of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (Communications, Navigation and Surveillance) from the Flight Inspection Unit (FIU) and put into operation. A Poojan Ceremony was also held at the DVOR installation site airport prior to the installation.

A traditional Pooja was organised as installation of #DVOR/DME Navigational Aid commenced at Kolhapur airport. A team of #ATSEP (CNS) from #RCDU and Surat/Vadodara shall be involved in the task. We expect to get the equipment calibrated by 15/5/2024.
