@DanielBShapiro Charles is also King of Canada, second only to the UK in deaths in Afghanistan. Unfortunately it doesn't look like another apology is forthcoming.
These are Hebrew names of the injured which have been shared with me so far. Please join me in praying for them, that they will have a refuah shelema - a complete and swift recovery.

@jasonnap@AdinHaykin1 That was my understanding as well; the main menorah more closely resembled Rambam's version. I like that it's reminiscent of Tzfat artist Avraham Lowenthal's use of triangles in his depiction of shofar blasts: https://t.co/U6RXx6JW3m
The end of the Gaza war posed a setback for Israelis aiming to resettle the strip. But the Israeli far right has a clear playbook for hijacking the post-war status quo, argues @xlederman in @timesofisrael. https://t.co/LKOqVTPHyh
@glcarlstrom I remember being in the room two days later when VP Biden spoke at Tel Aviv U. We've gone from embarrassing a VP with settlement expansion to passing a bill that would apply Israeli sovereignty to all West Bank settlements. Really stepping on the gas.
@JFederations are proud to announce the appointment of @SheilaKatz1 as Chief Jewish Life Officer. She brings a wealth of experience that will contribute toward #JewishFederations’ mission of creating flourishing Jewish communities around the world: https://t.co/BgGWxvl7fv
Important statement from @IsraelPolicy4m on this first, critical step of release. I agree with the call for sustained U.S. engagement to secure the return of ALL hostages. Celebrating, but my "Bring them home" pin stays on until the bodies of the murdered hostages are home.
Israel Policy Forum celebrates the agreement for the release of the Israeli hostages held captive in Gaza and the advancement of a deal to end the war that Hamas launched with its assault on Israeli border communities 733 days ago. We applaud President Trump and his administration for their leadership, which has been essential in reaching this critical achievement. We encourage sustained U.S. engagement with all parties on the difficult work ahead to bring all hostages back to Israel and advance the remaining phases of President Trump’s 20-point plan.
Reaching this initial deal is momentous, but the challenges ahead will be significant: securing the return of the living hostages and the remains of the deceased, the establishment of an interim international body to govern Gaza and oversee its reconstruction, the disarmament of Hamas, and the reformation of the Palestinian Authority (PA) in preparation for the PA’s ultimate return alongside Israeli withdrawals.
With sustained U.S. leadership and regional investment, this moment can be one that launches the region from crisis to opportunity: rekindled Israel-Arab diplomacy, a reformed Palestinian Authority with new, empowered, and legitimate leadership, an eventual expansion of the Abraham Accords that advances Israel’s integration in the Middle East, and the pursuit of a viable political horizon to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on two states. We urge the Trump administration to remain vigilant in seeing through each phase of this agreement and to prevent steps that would create new obstacles to achieving these critical objectives.
For now, we celebrate the planned return of the Israeli hostages, pray for the comfort of families receiving loved ones, and mourn with Israelis and Palestinians over the lives lost and suffering that was endured, and look forward with hope to a better future and the rebuilding of what has been shattered.
@HenMazzig Using the term "fallen" makes it sound like they were soldiers that fell in battle. They were civilians, kidnapped and murdered via violence or deprivation.

Last night, @IsraelPolicy4m hosted a panel with @RCBrandenburg, Amb. Michael Ratney, and @ShiraEfron at @E_DCJCC unpacking the current situation in Gaza, the West Bank, and the region.
Thank you to our event partners and all who joined us for this essential conversation.
@Etanetan23 One of my favorites! I love how Spark treats time as all encompassing, allowing the narration to describe events from no fixed vantage point. By not limiting itself to one distinct timeframe, the narration manipulates time and the reader in equal measure.
