@TeaTramRussia Complete nonsense. Finland renounced the military restrictions of the Paris Peace Treaty after the Cold War, fully in line with international treaty law. It formally notified the other parties - the Soviet Union and the UK - giving them the opportunity to object. They didn't.
@ProjectLincoln It says a lot about the Democrats’ political skills that they need a group of former Republicans to make effective ads for them and spell out some fairly basic facts. Just think: America’s future largely depends on that crowd.
@Glenn_Diesen And besides, Finland's "success" as a neutral country is debatable: it came at the cost of constant Soviet pressure and interference in Finnish domestic politics, which Finland had to work hard to keep in check. (2/2)
@Glenn_Diesen Russia alone is responsible for its neighbors rearming—no one else. You can't expect smaller countries to gamble with their security when they live next to an aggressive, expansionist neighbor. (1/2)
@ggreenwald Funny how you chose Zelenskyy as the comparison, not Putin, who’s been in power since 2000. The key difference: Ukraine cannot safely hold elections during wartime. Russia can. Or at least could have.
@Simon_Elo Kieltämättä hämmentävää, kun hyvin suoriutunut pääministeri joutuu lähtemään käytännössä pärstävärkin perusteella. Burnhamin pitäisi tehdä jotain todella repäisevää murtaakseen nykyisen eniten v-ttaa kaikki -tunnelman Britanniassa. Uusi EU-kansanäänestys voisi olla kova liike.
@NewReaganCaucus We shouldn’t overestimate what any single president can do, since economic and social forces shape politics far more powerfully than individuals do. Even so, I believe things would be at least somewhat better if Al Gore had won in 2000 and John McCain in 2008.
@DavidVance Ukraine is doing what it has to do to bring Russia’s war of aggression to an end. Russia could end the war at any time by withdrawing from the territories it occupies. Russia is the only side escalating the situation.
@BowesChay 1. Ukraine produces millions of drones every year.
2. Russia would not have been able to sustain this war without support from China and Iran.
3. If I were you, I’d be more concerned about how Ukraine might strike back if Russia is ”forced to respond”.
@roccoco29488257@RpsAgainstTrump Russia will undoubtedly try to strike back for a while yet, but its resources are growing thinner by the day. Ukrainian attacks keep intensifying, Russian losses keep mounting, and Russia's overall position keeps deteriorating.
