#Soane26 yesterday was brilliant. This year’s theme of ‘knowing more’ resonated in ways I didn’t expect! Counsell, Vallance, Allen, and Hill were great. Hearing Evans in person was amazing. I left with the feeling: so much beautiful work is going on and there is much more to do!

Happy half term!
The Berlin trip 2024 is over…
The students once again represented themselves and Avonbourne superbly. We are extremely proud of them all.
The highlights for students this year tended to be the Olympics stadium the Gleis 17 Memorial, Sachsenhausen concentration camp memorial
and the Berlin zoo. In addition to the historical studies students learn all sorts of important life skills for future independence.
I hope the students enjoyed themselves as much as I did. Trips like this are not possible without the goodwill of staff to accompany and guide
An eclectic day on the Berlin Trip today with visits to the Olympic Stadium, Olympic Bell Tower, Gleis 17 memorial, Checkpoint Charlie museum, Berlin Wall memorial centre, a meal out and bowling!
An emotional day on the Berlin Trip: visits to Sachsenhausen concentration camp memorial, Roma and Sinti memorial, visit up the Reichstag. Followed by evening activities in a local park, intense table tennis and very loud Uno!

Wonderful weather today for our walking tour day across key sites in Berlin. Students enjoyed seeing multiple different types of sites and memorials, including the Ritter Sport chocolate shop. Students still doing fantastically and are now worn out!
A great day 1 and 2 with 90 years 11s in Berlin. They have been fantastic throughout the journey and this evening enjoyed a leisurely walk to see some of the Berlin sites by night.
