Foundation went on an autumn walk today to find signs of autumn. We found yellow, orange and brown leaves which we collected to use for our learning this week.

We met another person today who helps us. He told us all about the ambulance and how they look after people.

To carry on our learning about people who help us, Foundation had a visit from the police today to tell us about how they keep us safe. We even got to sit in their van and try on some clothes!

Foundation had a visit from a vet today who told us all about how they look after our animals. This is part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic. Lorna even brought in a Tortoise and Guinea pigs for us to see. Thank you Lorna!

This week Foundation have been learning about different measures including mass, length and height. We have been using balance scales to see which objects are heavier and lighter as well as comparing the length of ribbons.

Foundation have been busy learning about environmental science and ways in which we can reduce plastic. We took a trip over to our pond to see what wildlife we have here at Avonwood. Check out our Earth Charter posters we have made too! 🌍

World Book Day was filled with so much joy! 💛📚

As part of our work with the @NCETM Jurassic Maths Hub, Miss Phillips delivered a brilliant maths lesson to her EYFS class today in front of a group of 10 visiting local Maths teachers. The lesson was co-planned as part of our local maths mastery project. She did a super job! 👏
