🐾🚨Urgent
Last week, we thought our worst problem was a food shortage.
Today, kitten season, the hellfire of rescue, said, “Wait… we’ve got a better problem for you.”

An trip across town, an errand to the dollar store this morning became a heartbreaking reminder that this is what rescue is.

A field beside a parking lot.
Tiny faces peeking through the grass.
Six abandoned kittens (4-5 wks old?) without their mother. People nearby said their mother has not been seen for about a week.
A note here: it never ceases to amaze…there’s always someone around to tell you their story..how long they’ve been there, how many there are, if the mother is around…blah blah. But…then they walk away as if they’ve done their part, giving you information.
But not help. 😮‍💨

Another sick mother trying to care for four fragile babies barely two weeks old.
Four older kittens, (6 mo?) appearing sick themselves.
Looks like someone was attempting to care for them. An old shelter there. Some old empty dirty dishes.

She went and got them some food and water.

And suddenly, the world changes.
What was a simple errand, turns into an urgent storm.
Because once you see them, you cannot unsee them.
You cannot drive away pretending you didn’t notice scared, lost babies waiting for a mother who will never return.

We do not have the funds for this. Truthfully, we barely have enough to cover food for the rest of the month.
Some incredibly kind angels have sent supplies, and we are so grateful… but we are still struggling badly.
So now we do what rescuers always do… we figure it out somehow, one terrified kitten at a time.

Our immediate goal is to get the six abandoned kittens to safety first, then work to help the others.

Kitten season is relentless. Brutal. Exhausting. Heartbreaking.

But those babies deserve a chance to know safety, full bellies, soft blankets, medical care and love instead of fear, illness and a sad death in a lonely field beside a dollar store.

If you can help us help them, we would be endlessly grateful.

We can’t bring them in unless the funds are there for an immediate vet check.
Each kitten will be ~$200 for initial check up/first shots/testing. X6.
I will personally match the first $600 to @gandolf_s to get them to safety, and a chance at life.

He woke up from the 1st surgery thankfully, because his body is so tired it was a high risk, & he is 1.4 kg
