Avs go down 3-0 in the series, Sakic get a phone call, a mysterious voice says “it’s time” game 4 starts and shadowy figure walks down the tunnel. Is it Forsberg? Hejduk? No, it’s Greg Zanon. He single handedly loses game 4 and the Avs are swept. The plan fails.
@AdoHernandez27@SoberSamAdams That’s missing context. That trade was a wash with both sides hoping the player would start playing to their potential with a chance of scenery. Plus the inconsistent/injury history. If that’s one of the worst trades MacFarland made we should consider ourselves lucky as fans.
@AdoHernandez27@SoberSamAdams He said you get franchise players from the draft. I don’t recall him ever trading a top 5 pick. Trading lower value picks to solidify a roster is what contending teams do..
@OHaraSports@TheHockeyNews Who led the NHL in wins one season. When it wasn’t working out, he mid season swapped his goalies and turned them into the tandem of Blackwood/Wedgewood. Avs were certainly lucky to have him.
Logan O'Connor was the one guy who seemed to be the most disappointed, pissed off throughout the series about how the Avs were playing. Here's what he had to say after.
I really don’t know what to say at this point. We’ve watched this Avs team for 9 months, and I didn’t once see them play the way they’ve played for the last week.
Completely disconnected and out of sorts all over the ice
Take whatever wife slapper Dana White has to say about men’s mental health, ignore it, then listen to what an actual man like Macho Man Randy Savage says regarding handling male emotions
@WildTakes10k I expect them to show that in game 3. This 3 day rest will be what they need after coming right out of the Dallas series to this one. Series is far from over.
"A lot of times teams will crack when they don't get the offense. They'll start to crack & they'll cheat. And they didn't."
Kings coach DJ Smith liked LA's game plan for the Avs. He raved over how impressive Colorado's commitment to the little details was in the series.
