Garissa County has been battling a silent Dengue Fever epidemic and the situation is worsening by the day. While health is a devolved function, the crisis needs urgent action from both levels of government. A public health crisis ignored is a public health crisis worsened.
@HassanAKhaire In a split second, you transformed from a respected statesman and former Premier with a credible path to the presidency into a disgraced warlord who, in pursuit of power, appeared willing to push an already fragile Somalia back toward anarchy. You made Hassan Sheikh seem a saint
@Abashajii Why would a former President and a former Premier, both of whom had credible paths to the presidency have armed militias. Hassan Sheikh may be a lame duck but trying to slide the already fragile Somalia back to anarchy is reckless.. Kheire and Sharif are proving Trump right.
In April, Garissa hosted the 62nd Kenya Science and Engineering Fair (KSEF), (formerly Science Congress). Yesterday, Wajir hosted the 63rd Madaraka Day national fete. For the first time, North Eastern is not merely watching national events unfold from afar; it is hosting them
Thank President @WilliamsRuto. This gesture was more than a symbolic act; it was a powerful affirmation of our shared history and a recognition of the injustices that hindered the development of our region for generations.
Apology accepted
It takes courage for a leader to confront historical wrongs and commit to a future founded on equity, dignity, and equal opportunity for all citizens.
Thank you, President @WilliamsRuto

If it took William Ruto exactly 105 days to construct the Wajir Stadium from dust, how many days will it take Rigathi Gachagua to brush his teeth? Use y=mx+c. (20 marks)
This is a historic Madaraka Day for Northern Kenya. For the first time since 1963, our region is hosting the national celebrations fittingly during the 63rd edition of Madaraka Day.
From Northern Kenya to the rest of Kenya, Happy Madaraka Day! 🇰🇪 #MadarakaDay2026
A crimson tide rose after twenty-two long winters of yearning. Our open-top chariots glided like galleons on a sea of scarves as we paraded the silver that shimmered like the first light of a long-awaited dawn.
What a day. What a club. What a feeling...
Arsenal Forever!
Ahead of the first-ever national Madaraka Day celebrations to be hosted in the larger Northern Frontier region tomorrow, we joined H.E. President William Ruto for a development tour of Wajir County.
In Habaswein, Wajir South Constituency, the President commissioned the Habaswein Solar PV-BESS-Diesel Hybrid Power Plant, a transformative project that will provide reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity to over 8,500 households while spurring economic growth in the area.
He also inspected the progress of the upgrading of 7.5 kilometres of roads within Habaswein Town.
The President further announced an affirmative action programme to recruit 100 teachers in every constituency across Northern Kenya before proceeding to Griftu Town in Wajir West Constituency, where he inspected ongoing road tarmacking works.
The visit concluded with a public address in Griftu, where residents turned out in large numbers to receive the President and hear the Government's development agenda for the region.
As Wajir prepares to host the nation for tomorrow's Madaraka Day celebrations, we warmly welcome Kenyans from all corners of the country to join us in marking this historic occasion in the Northern Frontier region.
