Mohamed Haji Yusuf, Director of the Speaker's Office of the House of the People of Somalia's Federal Parliament, told the "New Era in Türkiye-Somalia Relations" program held in Mogadishu that the partnership between the two countries rests not on short-term interests but on a deep-rooted trust that predates even Somalia's independence. According to Yusuf, Erdoğan's 2011 visit was not a beginning but "the symbol of an old friend's return."

Defining the essence of the Turkish model as capacity building, Yusuf made his most striking point on defense: "Turkish soldiers did not come here and fight in our place; they trained our soldiers so that they could liberate themselves." Noting that thousands of soldiers and officers have been trained since 2017 and that the Gorgor and Haramcad units have become the backbone of Somalia's security, Yusuf stressed that graduates of Turkish scholarships now serve in parliament, ministries, hospitals and the central bank and that human capital forms the strongest bridge between the two countries.

Yusuf also pointed to the timing of the recent anti-Türkiye propaganda: "This disinformation did not exist during our humanitarian crisis. It emerged precisely when we entered the strategic and developmental stage because the aim is to sabotage that very progress. With Allah's help, I am certain Somalia and Türkiye will defeat it."

In post–civil war contexts, peace does not endure simply because violence has stopped. The struggle for power continues—but it must be channelled into legitimate, nonviolent political mechanisms if stability is to last.

As Hartzell (1999) argues, the most durable civil war political settlements institutionalise three core elements: regulating control over the state’s coercive apparatus, allocating political power within the new order, and addressing uneven economic advantage.

This provides a useful lens for Somalia and other fragile transitions. Durable peace depends not only on elite bargains, but on whether institutions manage power fairly, prevent domination, and limit exclusion.

As Evan A. Hoffman (2010) notes in the Mediator’s Handbook for Durable Peace, mediation contributes to lasting peace when it helps produce balanced agreements and strengthens mechanisms that reduce incentives for spoilers.

In short, peace survives when power is institutionalised—not personalised.

I think your counters put Business CARGO at the places of passengers luggage

@alihwarsame @flyethiopian @alihwarsame I heard that they do this to the Somali nationals traveling to Somalia. I recommended my friend to use Istanbul to Mogadishu flight, but she was shocked when the passengers told her that luggages arrive after 3 - 4 days and it happened. That means it is daily issue.
