For those downplaying the possibility of Giannis bypassing a huge extension and going into free agency in 2027 if he doesn't get traded to one of very few teams, I totally get it. But there's also a reason why the Lakers, Clippers, Heat, Warriors are preserving max cap space for 2027. Some teams think 2027 could be different and a star/stars might hit free agency.
