One of my students enrolled late last year during the festive period when most people were winding down. She's a nurse. Full shifts and long hours. 🇩🇪

She came to her first class and skipped all the usual questions.

No "how long will this take."
No "what textbook do we use."

She just went straight to: "Is B1 actually possible in six months from zero?"

I told her honestly – it depends on two things. How much she's willing to sacrifice, and whether she can show up every session, be wrong, and keep going anyway.

She took it personal.

I thought the drive would die off after the first two months but no, the zeal got stronger every day.

Six months in, she sat for the Goethe B1 exam and passed three modules in one sitting. We are now in month seven, she'll be taking a special exam for the remaining module and B1 will be completed.

The evening she broke the news, I could tell she was the happiest human being on Earth.

Her words: "It's possible. Tell your next student."

So I'm telling you. 🇩🇪
