I decided to go back to school for my Bachelor of education because I have this undeniable pull towards community empowerment, story telling, and teaching & with that I want to help the next generation succeed #foreverstudent#futureteacher#bellletstalk
Some of my favourite self care is pet snuggles/love so I take advantage when I’m home visiting my family. Our puppy Murphy is a huge cuddle bug #selfcare#puppylove#stressreliever
Do you remember when you joined Twitter? I do! I started it to try and find an online community and try to connect my work with everyone. Although I don’t use it as frequently anymore it’s nice to come on to see what’s new with everyone #MyTwitterAnniversary
#BellLetsTalk about @siocatherine who went across Canada to talk to individuals about mental health and also makes me feel comfortable when I’m a mess in social situations aka she’s awesome
So grateful every year to see my twitter feed flooded with the #bellletstalk hashtag. Shows that everyone has a connection whether it’s themselves, family, friends, neighbours or coworkers & that we should be able to express our feelings & most importantly be heard ❤️
Spoke with a gr. 2/3 class last week about ableism. We talked about the word disability & every single student was able to distinguish that the word ability was there & then we discussed focussing on what people can do even if it’s a bit different #bellletstalk#educateourfuture
#BellsLetsTalk about how in the classroom I work in, we accept differences, and although what they see now is physical, let these kids grow up to accept everyone and ALL their potential differences, because inclusion and open minds make a difference
There are far too many stories of people desperately needing help, but too ashamed to ask for it.
Imagine the feeling of helplessness that people around us experience paralyzed by stigma, we can change this. Talking about it is the first step.
Let’s end the stigma #BellLetsTalk
#BellsLetsTalk because we need improved access to #mentalhealth care. Increased access, more affordable, shorter wait times, better options. Many are ready to access help, but can’t find it/afford it. #healthcare#MentalHealthMatters
#BellLetsTalk about how last spring at a PD session I saw a slide that said “kids with high anxiety are likely to have OCD tendencies because they’re holding onto something they feel they do have control over” and id never read a truer statement about myself
#MentalHealth issues can impact any one at any point in their life. Take the time to reach out to a co-worker and talk about the importance of #mentalhealth even after #BellLetsTalk Day.
We’ve surpassed 125 million texts, calls, tweets using #BellLetsTalk, views of our official Bell Let’s Talk Day video on social media, and uses of our Bell Let’s Talk Facebook profile frame and Snapchat filter. Let’s keep talking!
I had to leave my parents to go back to my apartment today & I looked back to see our puppy like this. The love an animal can give is incredible & soothes the soul. It helps ease my anxiety so much (I went back over for one more hug) #allthepuppycuddles#bellletstalk#pettherapy
please be kind to each other. and most importantly, yourself. #BellLetsTalk
