This tweet reflects a dangerous and warped narrative, one that threatens the stability of the Red Sea region under the guise of “peacekeeping.”

Is history repeating itself?

We’ve seen this before. #Ethiopia’s past use of “peacekeeping” to curry favor with powerful allies paved the way for the forced federation and subsequent annexation of #Eritrea. That political maneuvering violated the rights of the #Eritrean people and destabilized the region for decades.

It was wrong then. It is wrong now. There is no quid pro quo for violating sovereignty.

Access to the sea cannot come at the expense of another nation’s sovereignty. Peace in the Red Sea must begin with respect for international law, established borders, and non-aggression, not by justifying expansionist ambitions through historical revisionism or the rhetorical misuse of “peacekeeping.”

Calling for “sovereign sea access” by implication or force is not peacekeeping, it’s provocation.
True stability in the #RedSea hinges on:
Respect for international law
Adherence to the UN Charter
Respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all #Red Sea states
Invoking "peacekeeping" to justify territorial ambitions is a cynical misuse of international norms, a distortion of the very principles that peacekeeping is meant to uphold.

#Ethiopia cannot hoodwink the world by dressing expansionist rhetoric in the language of peace.
Peacekeeping is not a license for imperial ambition.

Ethiopia’s attempt to cloak its Red Sea claims in peacekeeping language is a deliberate effort to mislead the international community and legitimize destabilizing objectives.

The people of the #HornOfAfrica have paid dearly, in lives and livelihoods, for this expansionist mindset over the past 80 years.
No amount of rebranding as “#peacekeeping” can erase its destructive legacy.

The citizens of the #Horn reject it outright, because we know the cost too well.

#Eritrea has been calling for a coherent policy for #Africa, and H.E. President Isaias Afwerki has reiterated that call in his latest interview.

In light of the evolving geopolitical dynamics and persistent instability across many regions, it is increasingly evident that a new, coherent political strategy toward #Africa, and the Horn of Africa in particular, is urgently needed.

For far too long, U.S. policy toward the region has been marked by inconsistency, securitized engagement, and a lack of contextual understanding. This approach has often failed to reflect the aspirations, complexities, and sovereign interests of #Africa|n nations. It has also contributed to further destabilization and mistrust.

What is required now is a principled and forward-looking engagement strategy, one grounded in mutual respect, non-interference, and genuine partnership. A strategy that prioritizes political dialogue over coercion, development over dependency, and sovereignty over strategic expediency.

#Africa is not a chessboard for great power competition. It is a continent of agency, resilience, and rising ambition. The Horn of #Africa, with its strategic location and historical significance, must be approached not through the lens of crisis management or geopolitical rivalry, but through long-term vision and equitable cooperation.

Only through such a recalibrated and coherent approach can the #US hope to foster trust, contribute to peace, and support the region’s path toward sustainable development and self-reliance.

It appears Jabba the Hut found the time to take a break from his gluttonous and self-induced food and alcohol coma, to campaign social media with his fables of a supposed looming war, when in actuality he severely lacks the insight and intellectual capacity to make such fatuous statements.

Jabba the Hut; aka @reda_getachew, is the errand boy, spokesmen, gofer, jester, field slave to western powers, who is simply deemed relevant because of his usefulness as an idiot to said powers.

The people of Tigray have moved on from such buffoonery because history has proven to them countlessly that such individuals are rejects of society. His belly outpaces his intellect, his integrity is far more worthless than his words, and his leadership is synonymous with failure.

We’ve seen uselessness throughout his tenure within TPLF, and now even more as it’s apparent he’s been relegated to Tigray’s wasteful history. The ppl of Tigray have chosen to mend their broken hearts with their neighbors, and instead we see it’s met with disdain and contempt by individuals who see their interests slowly becoming irrelevant.
