Republican Senator John Cornyn
On Trump:
“He’s going to have the most miserable two years of his life in the last two years of his term, because I think November is going to be a disaster.”
Trump gets:
- $100M arch
- $1B ballroom fund
- A gold coin with his face on it
- A $1.8B slush fund for his MAGA buddies
Meanwhile, he's left Americans with higher grocery bills, higher health care costs, and higher gas prices.

There are never any "ideal man" posts like this because men are incredibly sensitive these days and get super mad when you tell them to meet any kind of standards.
@Zak_Bagans@Discovery I'm a little behind w/ watching, but in the bathroom, the unintelligible voice to me sounds like it's saying something like "who are these people?" That would explain the "I don't know" response that can be clearly heard
Rep. Moskowitz is hilariously trolling the GOP today during their sham hearing by wearing a Vladimir Putin mask as Republicans continue to peddle debunked information that came from a Kremlin asset.
Yes, he plans on keeping the mask on during questioning. https://t.co/cUoAIe6rdX
BREAKING: Democratic star Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez obliterates the Republicans' hack witness during a hearing for the sham Biden impeachment inquiry.
This is one for the books...
"I have a quick question. Simple. Is it your testimony today that you personally witnessed President Joe Biden commit a crime?" AOC asked Tony Bobulinski, a former associate of Hunter Biden who has been doing MAGA's bidding.
"I believe the fact that he was sitting with me while I was putting together a business deal..." began Bobulinski.
"Did you witness the president commit a crime? Is it your testimony?" interjected AOC.
"Yes," said Bobulinski.
"And what crime have you witnessed?" asked AOC.
"How much time do I have to go through it?" he responded, evading the question.
"It is simple: you name the crime," she responded. "Did you watch him steal something?"
"Corruption statutes, RICO conspiracy, FARA..." he rambled, without offering any details.
"What is the crime sir? Specifically!" she said.
"You asked me to answer the question, I answered the question," whined Bobulinski, who had not answered the question. "RICO, you're obviously not familiar with, corruption statutes..."
"Excuse me sir! Excuse me sir. Excuse me sir," said AOC. "RICO is not a crime, it is a category. What is the crime?"
Bobulinski then whined, rambled, and dissembled without providing a specific crime. As usual, Republicans want to rely on vague assertions to do their dirty PR work. AOC reclaimed her time and then tore into the entire inquiry.
"Clearly, what we are seeing here today is a continuation of the fifteen month saga of the Republican majority lost in the desert," said AOC. "Impeachment 101, the majority party or whomever is raising impeachment must accuse the president of a high crime, a specific high crime or misdemeanor."
During another stretch of the hearing, AOC voiced the same issue—
"At this point, the story isn’t the fact that the basis of this impeachment inquiry is wrong. The story is, ‘Why it is proceeding anyway?’" she asked, pointing out that there are "no charges" on the table.
"I have yet to hear in the chairman’s opening the allegation that they are specifically charging the president of the United States with," she went on. "I am hearing about the ‘Biden family.’ I am hearing about this and that. I am not hearing the specific allegation by this committee. What is it? It is not here. And that is the problem."
“The story is when this committee knew they were working with falsified evidence? That is the story," she added.
Well said congresswoman! This impeachment inquiry is an utter disgrace and a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. All that it proves is that Republicans have nothing to hit President Biden on. The sooner it concludes, the better.

Rep. Jamie Raskin BLASTS the Supreme Court for “punting” on its Colorado decision, House Dems are reviving a process to disqualify insurrectionists like Trump under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
Excellent.
The media's claim that Trump's South Carolina win is "crushing" misses a key point:
Trump is crushing his chances to win in November.
Everything he's doing to fire up MAGA voters makes him less palatable to the independents he needs to win the general.
Bad news for his MAGA base – largely white, very conservative, older, male evangelical election deniers, which pollsters say is about 33% of the electorate – is that in November, they can not bring him over the line alone.
Ironically, Trump is crushing them, as he crushes himself.

If I may, there’s something I need to get off my chest.
As democracy remains under siege, it has been frustrating to watch how the press covers politics these days.
I am reminded by lessons that came to me during the Nixon years as a CBS News correspondent, which I’ll add here:
1. Enough with Both-sides-ism
When one side lies intentionally and repeatedly, they are no longer entitled to the benefit of the doubt. They should be held to account, right away. Do not simply repeat the narratives they spew.
2. Prioritize Live Fact-Checking
Rigorous and robust fact-checking is the best defense against misinformation, intentional lies, and deflection.
If Trump says the sky is green, the story isn’t that the sky is now green; the story is that the sky is still blue and Trump got it wrong.
3. Ask Lawmakers Hard Questions
Ask about the fundamental principles of democracy. Push them to go on the record that Biden won the 2020 election.
Ask if they support the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
This writing is not to offer any claim of knowing it all. Your correspondent has made his share of mistakes, but after more than seven decades I believe I have picked up a few useful guideposts.
Good journalism is always worth it. Our democracy depends on it.
