Also, some people who get overstimulated by some things also feel UNDERstimulated in other areas! A friend of mine on the spectrum hates loud noises and crowds, but also craves overly-spicy food and adds a shit-ton of seasoning to everything she eats! Brains are funky & cool
Sensory mess here!! 🙋♀️I think it's because listening to music is more of a controlled thing. You're CHOOSING whether or not to flood your senses with whatever it is. And for me, music only gives me sensory overload if it's combined with other factors, in which case I turn it off.
I think listening to music can be a safer way to engage with high sensory input, as opposed to like.... getting stuck in a wildly-overstimulating situation against your will.
Like, does anyone ACTUALLY know how this sort of thing works? Is there a "normal"? Not that I even care because screw being "normal" but like. Every time I like someone I feel sooo in-the-dark as to how to proceed.
Also they're literally so gorgeous and smart and kind aaaaaaaaa
My crush doesn't follow me here yet so I can scream about them on here
UGH I HAVE THE BIGGEST CRUSH ON THIS PERSON it's like, almost embarrassing. Idk how to act because I am SO lost on the social norms of this kind of thing and I don't know how much is "too much" gaaaahhh
Is it a Gender Thing™️ if my voice and demeanor change drastically depending on what I am wearing? Or is this a Neurodivergent Thing™️? Or am I simply Overthinking™️™️™️™️
