Today, South Africa faces Mexico.
It's funny watching some Africans rush to support Mexico because they're angry at South Africans over immigration issues. Your own country isn't at the World Cup. Some have never even qualified.
Whether you like South Africa or not, they are carrying an African flag on that pitch today. Supporting Mexico over an African team says more about you than it does about South Africa.
Africa first.
When I placed the Renewed Hope Agenda before Nigerians, I did not speak of housing in vague terms. I gave my word that this administration would work to make decent homes affordable again, and that a hardworking family, after years of paying rent, would finally have a path to a house of its own.
Let me account for that promise plainly, by juxtaposing what we pledged beside what we have actually achieved.

EXCLUSIVE RIVERS POLITICS
It is alleged that chairmen intend to oppose Gov. SIM FUBARA from implementing a promotion exercise for local government workers in the state that are due for promotion.
The governor has finished promotion for state workers and is to move down to the 23 LGA for all staff members to be promoted appropriately, but the chairmen are against it, saying it will reduce their inflow.
Rivers people should stand by their governor. The Nigeria Labour Congress Rivers Chapter and other relevant unions should rekindle their solidarity spirit.
This governor has the empathy to work to end poverty in the state, but these are the hindrances.

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other first-term APC governors will know their political fate by May 18, as the party has fixed that date for its governorship primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APC also scheduled State House of Assembly primaries for May 16, House of Representatives primaries for May 20, Senatorial primaries for May 22, and the presidential primary for May 28 and 29.
In a statement by National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Muhammad Arugungu, the party fixed the presidential nomination form at N100 million, the governorship at N50 million, the Senate at N20 million, the House of Representatives at N10 million, and the State Assembly at N5 million. The APC says it will adopt direct primaries across all 36 states and the FCT.
