I went back to write the exams in pain. God did! I'm getting much better now and I'm hoping for full recovery.
Sickle cell might have won the battle, but I've won the war.
Reintroducing myself: Audu Joshua Oluwaseun (PMNIQS) B. Tech Quantity Surveying, FUTA (Hons) 4.43/5.00
Not to make you feel better, but I've been on the sick bed since April 20 treating sickle cell complications. Meanwhile I was suppose to be wrapping up my last semester in the university and graduate with a first-class degree.. But all is well!
If at this point you still don't see why you should hire a Quantity Surveyor, you may later see your building project add to the existing abandoned projects.
At my workplace, every new staff in my department introduces themselves using this format:

You’re going to learn… 😂

Three-bedroom bungalow.
Client's BOQ: ₦45 million
Contractor's BOQ: ₦50 million
Same building. Same specifications. Same soil conditions.
Yet, different costs.
Why? 🤔
Different objectives.
Client's engage your QS and don't share QS with the contractor. E get why.
Lol, you will be played faithfully. 😂
I always say this, the BOQ I prepare for contractors differs from the one I prepare for clients.
To the contractor, my job is to maximize profit. To the client, my job is to minimize costs without compromising standards.
The BoQ submitted by your contractor(whether it’s an individual or a company) isn’t and shouldn’t be the same with the one you use as a client.
There’s a lot of things going on you don’t know.
I’ll keep saying my own.
Stop using the same QS with the person you want to give the job to.
The bike man I boarded got a call while riding, his son had an asthma attack and he was short on cash. The family's breakfast was on credit, and the bike he rode belonged to someone else. He even tried calling his late wife's siblings for help. The elderly man burst into tears 🥲
CSR has to begin at home.
Jarus Homes excited to commit to donate a mini sports complex (consisting of football pitch and volleyball and tennis courts) to the University of Offa.
It’s not as competitive as you think. Besides, a 3ft × 3ft ring isn’t really necessary for a well, and an average well might only require about 12 rings. Borehole drilling is far more expensive.
