When you start taking your walk with God seriously, you realize that he things you used to enjoy starts losing their taste, not really because someone told you to stop, also not because you're following a list of rules, but because the more you start being intentional about your love for Him, the more time you spend in His presence, in worship, in the Word, in genuine fellowship with Him, the less those things satisfy you.

It's like developing a taste for something so good that everything else starts tasting bland in comparison.

Sin doesn't stop being available, temptations won't disappear, but the pull weakens in a way you can't manufacture through willpower alone.

You can struggle to stop on your own, and relapse a thousand and one times, but the moment you make up your mind to focus on Jesus Christ and the Godhead, you'll just gradually find yourself not wanting to do those things anymore.

That's the one of the sweet parts about real intimacy with God.
He doesn't just forgive you and leave you where He found you. He quietly shifts your appetites from the inside, and then one day you'll look up and realize you've moved further than you ever could have moved on your own.

Sometimes, I am ashamed of the material I give God to work with, yet he still prevails.

Humans can roam around the wilderness for decades. What should take 40 days can take 40 years. We keep resisting God to our peril.

And we are deeply prideful, always complaining. In the midst of the complaints is the unspoken assumption that we can do better than God and our way is better.

Whatever I am today is mercy in action despite my own misguided attempts to destroy my destiny.

Places I went to I should not have visited. Decisions I made that I was warned about. Time I should have spent with God that I gave to something else. Just a litany of hubris and stubborness.

Nowadays, when I think on my life, the only logical response is worship.

My main hobby now is spending time with God. One instruction is worth more than an entire week of strategy.

Knowing the Holy Spirit is fast becoming my life's greatest attainment.

I'm 47. In that wisp of a moment, I've learnt a few things.

I've seen wealth and known lack. Had times when I never needed to look at the price of a menu or hotel room. But I've also had days when I didn't know how to pay rent or buy groceries.

I've experienced years of great health but also months of going from doctor to doctor to find a diagnosis so I could be well. Yes, I've spent a small fortune on healthcare.

I've known wonderful friendships. And I've been intimate with great loneliness. I have been betrayed and also betrayed others.

I've done meaningful work that will outlive me and also felt the despair of being stuck doing what I dislike.

I've been a leader and a follower. Lived on different continents and met people from many cultures.

I've had vices and invented a few of my own.

In all of this, I have discovered the only thing that matters is God (and the people he so thoughtfully created). His will, his mind and his grace.

God has always been with me, ever kind and true. Jesus is my greatest discovery and the Holy Ghost is my grandest attainment.

Nothing else matters. In him I live and move and have my being. He brings reason and logic to everything. He is both the container and the content. The beginning, ending and everything in between. He reveals great purpose and meaning.

When he comes into the room, the only sensible responses are:

"Welcome, Lord. How may I serve and what should I give?"

"Who am I that you would notice me and come to me. Here, now and for all time?"

"What am I that you would reveal your thoughts and uncover your mind? Where was I created that the Holy One would choose to discuss his wishes?"

What an absolute wonder.

ATTENTION! So You Don't Lose Your Money in 2026.

All these "Nigerian Stock Market" Free Whatsapp Groups popping up everywhere in the Nigerian social media space are fronts used to mop up people to dump stocks on.

They use "free access" to get thousands of people into these groups, then they recommend to them stocks they already have taken positions in, the stocks gain rapidly in price on the activity, luring more people in based on their "correct predictions."

Once their target price hits, they sell, leaving the marks holding the bag and the price craters downwards.

Nigeria is a dirty country. You have no protection from the Govt or it's agencies. In fact, those ones are already in on it, or too docile or subservient to take any meaningful action.

Be wise to these things.
