An updated #MSWL thread!
In general, Iโm looking for Adult, YA, & MG fiction. I'm drawn to romance, horror, lower SFF, and genre blending & am always looking for more diverse perspectives. I am NOT right for erotica, non-fic, lit fic, or lower MG/chap books.
Specifics below.
@perez_erin80 Yes, people are definitely welcome to requery me if they've put something through significant revisions! I may still not be the right fit for it, but I'll always take another look.

In YA, I am NOT typically the right fit for historical, high fantasy or sci-fi with heavy worldbuilding, European-inspired fantasy settings, Arthurian retellings, space operas, dystopian, teen pregnancy stories, eating disorders, horse books, zombies.
@AmandaSenior12 Definitely! And even if I don't end up being quite the right fit, I don't think of it as wasted time -- it's a joy to be trusted with people's stories and be a small part of their writing journey, and I always appreciate the chance to fall in love with their work :)
@RichardAHJr If there have been revisions to the MS, then I'd definitely take a look again, but if not, then I likely would still not be quite the right fit for the project!
@DevPitches Romance w/ a spec twist is looser & while it can involve fantasy elements, it doesn't have to (could be more paranormal w/ vamps, or more sci-fi with timeloops). It also tends to skew more contemporary (i.e.: spec elements in our world). Think THE DEAD ROMANTICS, or THE EX HEX.
@DevPitches Hi Devyani! Of course -- while there aren't really hard definitions, I'd consider romantasy to be more romance in a fantasy setting or fantasy w/ an equally strong romance plot. Think something like ASSISTANT TO THE VILLAIN or the MEAD MISHAPS books.
