Your marriage will be a sermon to your children. They will either desire the kind of marriage you modeled for them or spend their lives trying to heal from what they witnessed. Give them an example worth following.
My first suicidal attempt was at 11 years........
After that I've tried again on countless occasions.
My very last attempt was on 4th July 2026.
Living with a mental health condition in this country is a whole battle on its own.
And everytime someone does it, i understand paa.
My chief consultant just finished an intense surgery ,immediately he took off his surgical gown ,he called his wife on a video call ,they have been giggling since..
Sis that man hasn’t called you since Tuesday is not busy ,he doesn’t love you 😂💔
i got a great-paying job in mid-august. the pay was so good that the money i sent my mum from my first salary made her cry and pray for me.
today, it’s october. i’ve been laid off from that job, and i’ve laid my mum at the morgue back home.
how are you doing today?
I’m in my 30s, and I know a lot of unmarried men and women in that age bracket. In fact, among my university coursemates, only a few of the ladies have gotten married, and about five or so of the guys. Mind you, I graduated in 2017.
Even on this app, there are many men in their 30s who are not thinking about marriage anytime soon. Some are still struggling to fend for themselves, so imagine adding a wife to the equation. Then you have financially stable men who are not even thinking about marriage either. Some would rather have a baby mama. People are getting married later these days, and there are many reasons for that. Women cannot marry themselves.
Do you realize that someone who is 30 years old today was born in 1996? To put things into perspective, we keep talking about Gen Zs (1997 to 2012). Do you know that the oldest Gen Zs are already 29 and will turn 30 next year?
Perhaps because I’m in my 30s, I know a lot of people in that age bracket. More than 80% of the people in my circles are already in their 30s, and I can tell you that I know many decent women who are still unmarried. The situation could get worse if APC wins the 2027 elections. There was a time when a man in his 30s could comfortably afford to marry his 24 or 25 year old girlfriend. But how many 30 year old men can comfortably afford to get married today? Do you people not realize the kind of economic crisis we have found ourselves in?
On the other hand, women, you need to extend some grace to men. You cannot expect a 30 year old man to have already become an Odogwu, filthy rich and financially established. Building wealth legitimately takes time. Learn to be reasonable and come down from your high horses. Face reality. Not everyone can marry a wealthy man and have an extravagant wedding. If you have something doing and your man is reasonably financially stable, you can get married and build your lives together from there.
Be careful of that job you do in the meantime to just to "survive". If you are not intentional about when you plan to leave, you can get very comfortable and that job that was meant to be for subsistence distracts you from your ultimate purpose.
