To the story of the ages that taught us to believe in ourselves, happy belated 30th to #SonicCD!
Please enjoy these preview images from Sonic CDX, our team's remake!
ICYMI: Test gameplay footage of Sonic Megamix Mania 3.0.
This iteration of the project will utilize the Hatch Engine and my Gateway Sonic framework for a standalone, expanded release.
Gateway Sonic aims to replicate 1:1 physics and behavior accurate to Sonic Mania.
I had a hand in Sonic Megamix Mania with its QA. I’ve playtested the several iterations of the project through the years.
Very happy with what the team was able to bring to the world. Please give it a play!
FYI: we have a standalone Hatch Engine version in the pipeline!
Opened a Sonic Retro thread for Gateway Sonic, my upcoming 2D Sonic game framework.
Please give it a read for background regarding the project, how you can prepare before its release, and a (very WIP) video of the Mania physics & behavior in-engine.

Been a while without much word from me, huh?
I imagine some updates are welcome. First, regarding my upcoming project: for the last three years, I have been developing Gateway Sonic, a framework to develop standalone classic Sonic fangames in the Hatch Engine. 🧵
@soniccitynet@Dastanovich_ The Hatch Engine is the underlying game engine (think Unity, Unreal, Retro, etc.). The engine is written in C++. OpenMania and Gateway Sonic are frameworks (sets of scripts) that run in Hatch, and are written in Hatch Scripting Language, which is compiled/run by Hatch.
Sonic CDX creator @Axanery has announced Gateway Sonic, a new fangame framework aiming to recreate Sonic Mania’s physics and mechanics 1:1.
The tool has been in development for 3 years and is targeting a 2026 release.

If you're interested in following or contributing to the Hatch Engine, please take a look at our GitHub repo. Hatch is a hybrid 2D/3D game engine - it's designed for much more than just Sonic games! https://t.co/HCFtU9X995
I'm looking to connect with Sonic fan projects/programmers/musicians/sprite artists so I can see more in my feed!
Please tell me about yourself/your projects in the replies or recommend accounts!
I'm working on a remake of Sonic CD and a Sonic framework for the Hatch Engine.
