Day 1 of writing about the top ordinal collections on Bitcoin and I'm starting this with the most talked about project in today's time - @adderrels

Everyone knows that adderrels are a set of 3420 crazy squirrels that kickstarted the pre-BRC 2.0 run on Ordinals but few know that the project started as NomCats which had an initial supply of 1969.

We were first teased with a sneak peak of Adderrels on their discord back on 15th November last year which tells us that @TomRiddleOG is not someone who is here the ride the next big hype on ordinals - he's someone who has been working on this project for quite a while now.

Not a lot of people know this but the artist behind the collection is @arianamanavi. This post would be incomplete without giving her the shout-out and due credit she deserves.

On 21st of last month, the team announced that they'll be launching on #BRC20 for a mint price of 0.000169 BTC and the launch date was finalized to be 1st of July. The mint price was later dropped to 0.0001269 and @trygamma was announced as the launchpad.

270 ordinals were reserved by the Adderrels team for marketing, airdrops and other purposes while the remaining went on sale.

People on the GTD stage could mint 1 per wallet while those on FCFS could mint 2 per wallet. While there was hype around the project, it went to the public stage where anyone could mint Adderrels with no limit per wallet.

Yep, you heard that right. In the public stage, anyone could mint Adderrels as much as they wanted for just 0.0001269 BTC (~$15) but the collection sold out within 30 minutes on the public stage.

The collection went live on MagicEden within 3 hours and the rest is history. The collection maintained a decent floor of 0.00022 to 0.0003 BTC for about a week as it solidified its position.

Adderrels was publicly supported by several well-respected people in the space like @sanjfomojis @The_sugargirl and @0xCobra_ while it was always supported by the absolute chads at @DebaucheryKEK.

7th July - less than one week after their launch - the team introduced Adderfi as a social experiment related to Infofi. People could earn points that would reward them with the BRC 2.0 tokens associated with the project. Anyone can participate in Adderfi, i.e. they do not need to hold the ordinal to participate.

The first Adderrel was also locked on the same day - 7th July - for a year. Little did anyone expect that this will start a chain reaction which will lead to over 2000 ordinals (58.7% of the collection) to be locked as of writing this post. Crazy.

9th July - Team introduces Adderrels Meme Studio on Adderfi. One could browse the collection or simply upload a picture of an Adderrel to generate memes on the basis of prompts. Anyone could generate memes and then post on X. By pasting their tweet link on Adderfi, they could claim points for the same.

10th July - Token supply was announced to be 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) along with a bit of tokenomics.

28% of the supply will be airdropped to holders while 27% of the supply will be given to stakers. This means a whopping 55% supply to the community. The remaining supply is distributed as - 10% for public sale through an auction, 10% for Adderfi, 10% for Liquidity and 15% for Treasury.

11th July - Staking went live officially with minimum requirements of staking for 30 days. According to the post by the team on the same day, a snapshot would be taken randomly within the next 30 days (likely before 11th August)

12th July - 0.001 BTC resistance broken and now acts as a strong support.

20th July - 50% of Adderrels are now staked! Floor holding strong at 0.0025 BTC.

22nd July - 0.005 BTC resistance broken. The space has accepted Adderrels as the leading collection in the BRC 2.0 meta.

26th July - 0.01 BTC floor!! Adderrels flips big names like Honey Badgers, BTC Machine, Pizza Pets by market cap.

27th July (today) - 0.025 BTC (~$2925) marked as the new all-time-high. The historic run continues. With a market cap of around $10 million dollars, Adderrels continues melting faces as it flips Pizza Ninjas, The Wizards of Ord, Bitcoin Wizards and Bitmaps.

Conclusion - To say the least, I don't think anyone expected @adderrels to have this crazy of a run. Minters who are still holding (or staking) are up about 200x on their investment.

Their token (ticker is still not disclosed to prevent sniping when BRC 2.0 launches) will give 55% of the supply to holders and stakers.

Assuming that the market cap of the collection represents the market cap of their #BRC20 token, that would mean a similar market cap of $10 million and an airdrop over $5.5 million to holders/stakers!
