BREAKING: Trump throws a furious Truth Social tantrum over CNN “REFUSING” to cover Xi’s White House arrival – after HE BANNED THEM FROM THE WHITE HOUSE!

This afternoon, Donald Trump felt the need to complain about CNN. But first, he needed to remind everyone of a few things that we may have possibly forgotten.

He won the election in a “GIANT LANDSLIDE.” He won all seven swing states. He won the popular vote. He won 86 percent of the counties. His popularity has grown. America is enjoying “unprecedented SUCCESS.” And CNN's ratings are terrible because CNN keeps writing “badly” about him.

Having gotten all of that off his chest, Trump finally arrived at his grievance: CNN had “refused to cover” Chinese President Xi Jinping's arrival at the White House because the ceremony was so “magnificent” that CNN couldn't bear to give “TRUMP” the credit.

There was just one rather large hole in Trump's story: CNN had spent the morning TRYING to get into the White House and failing.

After a federal judge ordered the administration to restore access to CNN, MS NOW and POLITIC, CNN’s Betsy Klein made repeated attempts.

She and other journalists were initially turned away, and CNN reported that its request to cover Xi's arrival had been denied by the White House. The five major television networks also withheld their shared pool camera in solidarity with CNN.

The three outlets were finally allowed back onto White House grounds around midday. So by 3:50 p.m., Trump was furiously accusing CNN of refusing to attend an event that his own White House had refused to let CNN attend.

And just to make sure everyone knew who had written this presidential communiqué, he signed it:

BREAKING: GET HIM! Fifty major media organizations join together to submit an amicus brief in support of the CNN, Politico, and MS NOW lawsuit to lift Trump's "Constitutionally repugnant" White House ban.

He really woke a sleeping giant with this one...

"The President has indicated that evictions of other news organizations will follow. The current ban – and any future bans – are intended to impair the critical work of news organizations covering the presidency if this Court does not immediately intervene," the coalition, which includes the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, the White House Correspondents’ Association, NPR, CBS, ABC, and scores of other media organizations argued.

An amicus curiae brief, which translates to "friend of the court," is a legal filing submitted by an entity or entities that are not party to the lawsuit in order to offer arguments, expertise, or relevant insight to the case. In this case, the organizations are offering their emphatic support for CNN, Politico, and MS NOW which were banned from the White House by Trump for supposedly spreading "fake news."

Clearly, the organizations recognize that Trump's power grab represents a dire threat to the Constitution. If a corrupt President like this can unilaterally label an outlet as "fake news" simply because he dislikes their coverage of his administration, we cease to live in a country with genuine free speech.

"Barring these three news organizations from access to the White House because they exercised their ‘editorial control and judgment’ to cover issues in a way that the President views as negative ‘exacts a penalty on the basis of the content of a newspaper’ much like any law that forbids publication or imposes a monetary sanction on its use," the filing reads.

This is what it looks like when the united free press stands up to a would-be tyrant. Trump is doomed to fail in this fight, just like he has failed every time before when he sought to shred the Constitution.

BREAKING: LOL! Trump gets publicly humiliated at his big White House helipad event after the major outlets refused to give him a press pool — resulting in a lack of audio for his ranting remarks.

This one really backfired bigly on him...

"Yeah there— Okay, so there is no microphone because... There's no microphone because the pool cameras aren't there," said a Newsmax host reporting on the incident. "So maybe, Tim, this is one example of it backfiring just a little bit."

The video showed Trump cutting a ribbon to celebrate his hideous new White House helipad, but viewers couldn't hear what he was saying because of the press pool's absence. Since the reporters didn't show up, there were no high-quality professional microphones present.

On Friday, Trump barred CNN, Politico, and MS NOW from the White House on the grounds that they're supposedly "fake news," which just means that they accurately report on his disastrous administration.

In retaliation, CBS News, ABC News, CNN, Fox News, and NBC News banded together to announce that they would be suspending press pool coverage of Trump.

"The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government. No administration should reject a news organization because it objects to its reporting," they said in a joint statement.

The press pool is a dedicated, rotating group of journalists, complete with cameras and audio equipment, that travels with the President to provide outlets with a steady stream of updates on his latest remarks and actions. They also provide video footage when he delivers a speech or attends a noteworthy event. It's clearly something that the attention-obsessed Trump took for granted. He failed to game this attack on the free press out and now he's paying the price.

And you just know that this is exactly the kind of thing that gets under his skin. He's fixated on all of these "renovations" and building projects, and he was presumably looking forward to this helipad unveiling. What should have been a moment of gloating and self-congratulation turned into a display of muted helplessness.

They are minors.
They are U.S. citizens.
They were preparing to serve this country - yet their citizenship did not protect them from being beaten, pepper-sprayed, and detained by their own government.

Something remarkable just happened in the United States.

After Donald Trump banned CNN, MS NOW, and POLITICO from the White House because he objected to their reporting, the other major television networks responded collectively.

ABC, CBS, NBC and even Fox News suspended their participation in the presidential TV press pool in solidarity.

This is how institutions are supposed to work.

You may disagree with each other on almost everything. But when the rules protecting a free press are threatened be a dictator wannabe, you defend the rules, including for people you disagree with.

BREAKING: BRAVO! The New York Times announces it will NOT publish or distribute ANY photos from the White House pool today in protest of Trump's assault on free speech.

This fight has spiraled totally out of control for Donnie...

“The New York Times will not publish or distribute any images taken as part of the White House still photography pool today, in conjunction with the other members of that pool and in a show of support for the news organizations being unfairly targeted by the president’s barring of journalists from the White House," New York Times spokesperson Charlie Stadtlander stated.

"We remain committed to covering the president’s travel to New York City today. Americans deserve a free and independent media covering their government without intimidation, as well as comprehensive coverage of newsworthy events," he added.

The Washington Post released a similar statement—

“The Washington Post will not publish any photographs of today’s presidential events — including Trump’s departure from the White House and his events at the United Nations in New York — until midnight Eastern Time, joining a collective effort with photographers in other newsrooms covering the White House in a show of support of the banned outlets," said Post spokesperson Olivia Petersen.

These new announcements come after major news outlets including CBS News, ABC News, CNN, Fox News, and NBC News suspended press pool coverage of Trump over his decision last Friday to ban CNN, Politico, and MS NOW from the White House over their alleged "fake news" stories. That collective pushback resulted in a particularly embarrassing incident for Trump, because there was no audio for his big White House helipad ribbon cutting ceremony today.

With an even bigger week ahead as the United Nations convene in New York, Trump is going to be feeling the burn from his authoritarian power grab. He's drunk with his own power and in obvious cognitive decline, which is why he thought that he could shred the First Amendment without consequence. Thankfully, the media is fighting back — and winning bigly.
