Mitch Johnson:
- Father was John Johnson, who won 1979 NBA championship with Seattle SuperSonics
- Mitch born in Seattle, went to HS at O'Dea (same as Paolo Banchero)
- Was 21 when Sonics moved to Oklahoma
- Now will coach against defending champion Thunder in WCF
I asked Dan Hurley the same question I asked Tom Izzo: why does the media have a problem with coaches coaching players hard?
Hurley: "Society has gotten soft in a lot of ways... The real world is tough and cruel... I'm preparing my players for life."
Cushing completed an undefeated season in Class AA by capturing Sunday's championship with a 64-55 victory over Cheshire.
The Penguins went 17-0 against AA opponents this winter.
โItโs pretty impressive to have that consistency.โ

Cedric Cowardโs journey to the league:
โข 0โญ๏ธ recruit
โข Started at DIII Willamette
โข Transferred to EWU, wins Big Sky title
โข Follows coach to Wazzu, then gets injured
โข Commits to Duke, but lights it up at the combine and stays in the draft
Now, heโs a lottery pick! ๐
Zero D1 offers. Quit AAU one year. Began w/ a six-win D3 team. Played only six games last season.
On draft night, he'll be picked in the middle of the first round.
Cedric Coward should be impossible. Yet here he is.
Really excited to share his story.https://t.co/r8JIZ9hWFd
From D3 Hoops to NBA Draft Boards
How an unheralded D3 athlete landed an offer to Duke & became a projected 1st Round 2025 NBA Draft pick
Cedric Coward's improbable journey ๐งต
David Riley was just casually watching his old boss coach a week into his new job when a Division III player on the opposing team caught his eye
Now, Cedric Coward is going to the NBA. Here's the story @mid_madness https://t.co/ExzCFDWmqu
