I hope the Zenit fans understand it will take some time for me to navigate the Russian league and Witsel's new team.

I want to congratulate Witsel & Zenit on their first UCL win. Looks like Malaga has sealed the top spot, however, 2nd place is up for grabs.

I have not updated this account since Axel Witsel joined Zenit. It took me some time to come to terms with the move he made last summer.

[Axel Witsel Fans @AxelWitselFans]

I'm still in shock about this. Returned from vacation expecting Witsel will remain at Benfica for an additional season. Will think it over.

[Axel Witsel Fans @AxelWitselFans]

The €40m release clause was triggered so Benfica & Witsel are powerless in this case. As a fan of Witsel's I want only what's best for him.

[Axel Witsel Fans @AxelWitselFans]

Axel Witsel has joined Zenit. The bottom line: this is all about money. Zenit bought Witsel with its petro wealth. Not a good career move.

Benfica is playing away at Setúbal. Axel Witsel starts.
