We send our love to our colleague and friend, Jan Bach.. ❤️ we’re thinking of you, and so grateful for all of the incredible music you have written. Here is a short excerpt featuring Kevin Harrison, from the Sarabande movement of his remarkable Quintet, “Rounds and Dances”.
Thinking of our Danish friend, composer Axel Jørgensen on his birthday. One of our favorites, the end of the Intermezzo movement from his Music for Brass. 🔥🔥🔥

We welcome in this Madrigal Monday with a taste of Monteverdi... <3 his madrigal "Quel Augellin, Che Canta (the little bird that sings)" Recorded live in concert in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, last year at the wonderful Conciertos de la Villa Festival.
We are excited to have Ed Carroll- renowned trumpeter, pedagogue & conductor- join the Brass Legacy Board of Advisors. We look forward to working with such an esteemed member of the brass chamber community!

We love Augusta Read Thomas' "Avian Capriccio" because of its beautifully evocative music. Intended to be performed with dancers, this piece gives us a chance to really sing, while also exercising the most acrobatic qualities on our instruments. 2nd movement entitled Swans ♥️
We are thrilled to have the amazing Factory Seconds Brass Trio (members of The Cleveland Orchestra) on the Board of Advisors for Brass Legacy. Check out who else is on board (pun intended!) with BL at https://t.co/MRLeABYbwz
It's Fanfare Friday! How about some Augusta Read Thomas....backwards and forwards :)
Mvt. 1, 'Hummingbirds', from "Avian Capriccio", excerpt.
Recorded live in concert at Adelphi University, January 2020.
We are SO excited to be on the ballot for this year’s GRAMMY Awards under the category of “Best Chamber Music Performance” for our recording of Augusta Read Thomas’ piece “Avian Capriccio” on her album “The Auditions”. It is also included on our recent album “First Impressions”.
Even when life on the outside can be a whirlwind of storms, all we can do is make peace within and with each other. This is one of our favorite hymns to remind us of that..
Our Church Music Library is still available for your local church ❤️

For Fanfare Friday we enjoy Frolic of the Bears, a ballet number from Scott Joplin's opera Treemonisha. Joplin, considered the King of Ragtime, was an accomplished composer beyond ragtime as well and was posthumously awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his opera. #brassquintet#joplin
