Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is developing a massive offshore gas pipeline network designed to transport gas from the Niger Delta to Nigeria’s industrial hubs.

The project, known as the EWOGGS pipeline, will span about 1,100km and is designed to ensure a reliable gas supply for industries and energy producers.

Pipes for the project have already been ordered from China, with some shipments arriving as construction progresses.

The pipeline is expected to support a planned deep-sea port and industrial complex at the Olokola Free Trade Zone between Ogun State and Ondo State.

Aliko is not stopping here. He has embarked on an additional $12 billion expansion to increase refining capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day, alongside 2.4 million tons of polypropylene and 400,000 metric tons of Linear Alkyl Benzene for detergent production. Work has already commenced in earnest.
