Impact of opioid-free analgesia on pain severity and patient satisfaction after discharge from surgery: multispecialty, prospective cohort study in 25 countries
➡️https://t.co/uM2eDisdIc
This international, multicentre, prospective cohort study of 4273 patients from 25 countries undergoing common acute and elective general surgical, urological, gynaecological, and orthopaedic procedures found that opioid prescription on discharge was not associated with decreased pain or increased satisfaction with analgesia after discharge.
Although opioid prescribing varied dramatically between high-income and low- and middle-income countries, patient-reported outcomes did not.
