African Youth Advocacy Network (AYAN) is a Non Government Organization founded to advocate for policies and legislations that promote access to SRHR services.
AYAN Kenya participated in the Provider Engagement & Mentorship Workshop under the Pamoja Project supported by @TICAH_KE. The training strengthened skills on PAC & CAC guidelines, values clarification, and rights-based, youth-friendly SRHR services.
Led by @Ayan_Kenya we held a support group session with Adolescent Girls & Young Women in Kuria West Sub-County as part of the #HERSPACE Project.
Creating safe spaces for dialogue remains critical in breaking stigma & empowering girls & young women to make informed decisions.
✍️With support of @TICAH_KE we successfully completed a series of sensitization sessions in West Sakwa and Yimbo West, reaching 113 key community stakeholders, including gatekeepers, indigenous religious leaders, parents, and local administrators.
✍️Our focus was to promote the importance of Comprehensive Sexuality Education #CSE among #Ayp & demonstrate how access to accurate information can mitigate risks associated with the #triplethreat and #unsafeAbortion
✍️Through collaboration with healthcare workers, we effectively challenged and dispelled negative narratives, myths, and misconceptions regarding #contraceptive access & medical safe abortion & PAC services.
✍️As a result, we cultivated community champions who are now equipped with correct information to advocate for progressive perspectives on #CSE, #contraceptives, and #PAC services.
✍️We will continue to collaborate with these champions to expand community-wide sensitization efforts, enhancing access to quality, age-appropriate information and services for adolescents, young people, and women.

Unsafe abortion isn’t just a health issue—it’s a human rights issue. Neglecting it in Kenya’s RH Policy perpetuates preventable deaths. Stigma shouldn’t cost lives. 🩺 #ReimagineRHPolicy#ZamaraVoices

Disturbed by the alarming surge in femicide cases in Kenya. The brutal killings of women must be met with decisive action.
It's time for collective outrage, demanding justice, and holding perpetrators accountable.

It is deeply saddening to witness a police officer lose their life while rescuing girls from inhumanity.

There is no contest on the data. Girls btwn 15-24 are HIV+, pregnant and dropping from school. Police report 5000 defilement cases annually. What is contested are the REALISTIC SOLUTIONS to give. Church wants abstinence &prayers. I want speedy prosecution, condoms &sex education!
