He’s spot on. Lamine needs to play less than Raphinha this year and then more and more from next season. Remember that Ronaldinho already said in 05/06 that 17yo Messi was better than him, but Guily still played more games. We must be careful, Xavi hopefully knows this.

This is an important point. And it’s true, in theory, but I’d argue that we haven’t quite seen its application in Xavi’s tenure.

There’s a clear hierarchy between starters and subs, meritocracy has often been put to the side.
