These three wonderful kids are visiting the @WhiteHouse today. Kira, Oleksandr, & Ilya all lost their parents in Russian attacks. Kira’s father was killed, Ilya’s mother died in his little arms, and Oleksandr’s mother was disappeared. Then the Russians tried to kidnap them.
We choked the weapons supply, we failed to provide enough air defence, and now we ask Ukrianians to sit on their hands while cruise missiles land on their families. Such mistakes are setting the course of the entire century. And there is no justification for any of this.
After a heated argument with Giuliani about his lack of results, Lutsenko turned to me and said,
“You Americans constantly talk about fighting political corruption. But how ironic that you are now doing the exact same thing [to Ukraine]. You’re pushing us and forcing us to announce a fake investigation against a political rival for your own gains.”
He was right. On May 11, 2019, ahead of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s inauguration, I was assigned to deliver a quid pro quo to Ukraine’s new president. Meeting with his Chief of Staff, I gave the message as Giuliani specified: Unless Zelenskyy announced an investigation into the Bidens, the U.S. would stop all aid to Ukraine.

Scoop: The US has urged Ukraine to halt attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure, warning senior SBU and GUR officials that drone strikes risk driving up global oil prices and provoking retaliation.

56bn for Ukraine 🇺🇦
Zero Trust for Germany? 🇩🇪
#Germany is both #Ukraine’s biggest European supporter in absolute financial terms
- AND rightly seen as problem by allies (As well as by many Germans)
Here’s why.🧵
(& no, it’s not just Scholz, the SPD & #Taurus)
I traveled to Kyiv today to meet with @ZelenskyyUa & @AndriyYermak to reaffirm the United States’ unwavering commitment to supporting Ukraine. We have stood by Ukraine’s side since this war began and will do so every step of the way until Ukraine has prevailed.
What a thrill for a make-believe hero like me to meet 2 real-life heroes like @YVindman & @AVindman.
It is an honor for me to have endorsed him & sent my donation to his campaign.
Please help Eugene keep #VA07 blue by donating any amount large or small... every little bit helps!
📺WATCH: @AVindman let's @HouseGOP know VoteVets' plan if they don't get Ukraine aid over the finish line:
"If they don't pass a bill that's in the interest of the United States, and preventing our Troops from being forced to serve overseas, we're going to impose some costs."
📺 WATCH: @AVindman on CNN talking about VoteVets efforts to get Ukraine aid over the finish line:
"We have a Republican Party that's willing to cast aside national security, the potential risk to our Troops, in order to curry favor with Donald Trump, who himself is trying to curry favor with Vladimir Putin."
In supporting Ukraine, we’re:
1. Protecting Europe—our biggest trading partner
2. Defending US servicemembers in Europe
3. Protecting our food supply.
4. Investing in US workers
Let’s get it done.
TOMORROW-Tuesday March 19th: I'll be Zooming in with Eugene @YVindman & Alex @AVindman for their virtual fundraiser. Just think of it- TWO VIRTUAL VINDMANS, plus little ol' ME & hopefully... YOU!!! Be there if you can, as a splendid time is guaranteed for all.😘
Hey reporters & analysts, if you can’t independently verify Putins alleged percentage of the vote or the alleged turnout, aren’t you obligated to tell your readers so? Your only source for these numbers is the Russian government that notoriously lies all the time.
When you report on the sham election in Russia as if it were an actual election, you give the whole Potemkin ritual legitimacy it does not merit. Reporting on alleged turnout numbers and so-called exit polls as if they were real is especially distasteful. #FactsMatter.
I joined my fellow veterans in Congress and @VoteVets to push Speaker Johnson to let us do our job and support our friends in Ukraine.
It's the right thing to do for democracy and for our country.
Trump’s either lying or has dementia. You choose. There’s no tape of the infamous July 25th call. There is however a damning transcript and my testimony, where it is indisputable @realDonaldTrump tried to extort President Zelensky. I reported and ended this corrupt scheme.
The fight in Ukraine is a fight for their democracy – and for democracy in the world.
There is strong, bipartisan support in the House to pass additional aid for Ukraine.
@SpeakerJohnson must give us a vote.
