@ApparentlyABot1 @Vin_cenzo_@the_2ndComing@Alex_zedra I've played Tarkov and I used to play the shit out of R6 Siege (extremely low ttk) and CoD (mid range ttk) and Apex Legends (long ttk). Apex by far requires the most skill. Long ttk means you have to be accurate + have good movement and rotations. I like the new CoD though.
@ApparentlyABot1 @Vin_cenzo_@the_2ndComing@Alex_zedra Dude just think about it. Very fast ttk means that even bad players who panic and just start randomly shooting still have a chance to get a kill. Long ttk means that the person with better movement, better awareness and better aim is almost always going to win the fight.
@Vin_cenzo_ @ApparentlyABot1 @the_2ndComing@Alex_zedra I don't mind the ttk in CoD and I usually hate hardcore mode for the fast ttk. You are absolutely right though, longer ttk requires more skill to win gunfights. A good player should still dominate in fast ttk games like CoD though, they will just have more deaths than usual
@pensive_thinkr@SeeWut@Charalanahzard It doesn't... They aren't making movies the way they are because its what we're used to seeing from past limitations, they are making movies this way because it's better for what they are doing.
@UneditedMarble@pensive_thinkr@SeeWut@Charalanahzard I would argue 24fps does "look" better for its purpose. It's the same reason color grading is used to create a feeling, not to mimic reality. Higher frames has its purpose for things grounded in reality, like sports or documentaries etc. The motion blur just looks good in films
@Lemecducailloux@_LarZen_@Charalanahzard If there is alot of action, sure, but games where you're essentially playing a movie (making choices for the characters) it doesn't really matter that much. That being said, games are a much different medium than tv/movies and more fps is generally preferred
@pensive_thinkr@SeeWut@Charalanahzard I'm not arguing that, I'm saying that they would have slowly adapted to new technology and faster frame rates with time if that's what they thought would be the best experience but it's not. Movies don't look/feel right at fast frame frates.
@pensive_thinkr@SeeWut@Charalanahzard You're wrong, it's not conditioning. Things adapt with new technology all the time and there's a reason movies have purposely stayed around 24fps. Slower framerate creates motion blur which makes things feel softer and flow nicely. They aren't trying to look realistic
@_LarZen_@Charalanahzard 30fps in games is fine for story driven games that are meant to be a movie like experience, but fast paced competitive games like racing, fighting, or shooters benefit from high frame rates. As for TV the only reason you should use that setting is for sports/reality tv imo
@pensive_thinkr@SeeWut@Charalanahzard It has nothing to do with past limitations, it simple looks way better and more cinematic. Sports or other reality type entertainment is the only reason to have it on
@_LarZen_@Charalanahzard The blurry 24fps is what makes it feel cinematic, when it's on it makes movies look like its behind the scenes footage or a documentary lol it looks terrible

@thegamingden0 @davidtennis@tomwarren That's not a fair comparison, Nintendo established it's brand long before Xbox and has a massive market in the Asian countries that Xbox does not. I'm pretty sure Xbox has been gaining momentum in users ever since they switched to a more consumer friendly approach.
