Exactly. In gestational surrogacy, the surrogate carries the baby but does not provide the egg, so her inherited DNA is not part of the child's genome.

The baby's genetic DNA comes from the egg and sperm providers. The surrogate provides the womb and biological environment for development.

I have only just learnt that in a normal gestational surrogacy, the DNA of the surrogate mother is not in the child at all. I always thought that a woman can’t carry a child in her womb for nine months without her DNA being in the child. I was wrong.
