OBSERVATION: I am struggling to understand.

You pay $250,000 to get into a tiny vessel with 4 other people to submerge yourself under 2.5 miles of water.... where the water pressure equals some 3 tons per square inch ..... in order to look at the wreckage of a vessel that sank more than 100 years ago. And most of the observations will be done on TV screens, as the vessel has only one tiny window.

In my friend’s Iverson voice: "Look at! We talking about looking at! Not actually exploring or touching. Just to look at?!".

The company that you are going with tells you upfront that they have no "Rescue" capacity. If anything goes wrong with your little vessel....engine trouble, buoyancy trouble, oxygen trouble....the company that is taking you has NO WAY of rescuing you.

And yet, you pay your $250,000 and happily climb into the tiny little vessel and head out on your voyage to the bottom of the sea.

Fast forward 24 hours....you haven't returned. Now, everyone is scrambling to find you and "rescue" you. Not the company that took you down there....everyone else.

I know that I am a heartless bastard, but, I couldn't care less. If they are able to find them and rescue them, then my hat goes off to the rescuers. Being able to mount a rescue operation at 13,000 feet below sea level in under 30 hours would be a herculean feat and the people who are able to do that deserve our admiration. Hopefully, in doing that they learn somethings about deep sea rescues that can be useful in the future and that they don't endanger any other lives. And, if they are able to pull it off, I hope they give the bill for the effort to the company and the occupants!

But if you are willing to risk your life doing these feats of daring do, then you have to be willing to accept the consequences if you fail. It would be more worthwhile if you risked your life trying to do something that was of more value and importance to the human race than just looking at a 100 year old ship wreck. I can see risking your life going on a space orbit mission, or a mission to the moon or Mars. The more knowledge we can gather on space travel the better, so that is worth the risk to me. But going to look at a 100 year old shipwreck? I'll pass. 🤦🤦🙄🙄

Better they go watch the movie "Titanic".

NO PRESIDENTIAL APPROVAL FOR SALARY INCREASES FOR POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDERS AND JUDICIAL OFFICERS

We have followed with consternation the viral story of the purported 114% increase in the salary of the President, Vice President, elected Federal and State political office holders and judicial officers.

We state without any equivocation that President Bola Tinubu has not approved any salary increase, and no such proposal has been brought before him for consideration.

While we recognise that it is within the constitutional remit of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to propose and fix salaries and allowances of political office holders and Judicial Officers, such cannot come to effect until it has equally been considered and approved by the President.

It is important to note that RMAFC, through its Public Relations Manager, has responded to this fake story being circulated and has already set the record straight.

However, this unfounded story gained prominence on social media and in a section of mainstream media, again, bringing to the fore the danger fake news poses to society and our national well-being.

The misinformation was, obviously, contrived to create an ill will for the new administration and slow down the upward momentum and massive goodwill the Tinubu-led administration is currently enjoying among Nigerians as a result of its fast-paced, dynamic and progressive policies.

It is important to reiterate to journalists, media managers, and members of the public that stories on government activities and policy issues that do not emanate from approved official communication channels should be ignored.

Media practitioners are enjoined to, at all times, cross-check their stories to ensure accurate reportage, which is the hallmark of responsible journalism.

When I saw this picture yesterday, I was emotional and I didn't know when I said Alhamdulillah! You want to know why?

When we launched our Presidential Rally in Jos last year, it was highly successful. Tinubu’s entrance to the venue was electrifying. After the rally, we went back to the Airport to go back to Abuja. Our plane returned to Abuja as soon as it dropped us in Jos, so we were expecting its arrival back in Jos to carry us. Myself and My Honourable, Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi were waiting at the VIP lounge but when I left to chat with Joe Igbokwe, My Honourable had joined Sen. Remi Tinubu back to Abuja, he was looking for me to join them, even called but I was lost in my discussion with Uncle Joe. Therefore, I had to wait for our own.

It was late in the night before our plane arrived. While we were boarding, I noticed that one plane had been on ground for hours, oh, it was Asiwaju’s. They had boarded for like an hour, all of a sudden, they were coming down again. I heard, the plane had minor faults but you see, you don't fly a plane with minor faults. They have arranged another plane for him in Abuja, so when ours arrived, he thought it was his, so he came down walking towards it but was informed that it wasn't his, so he walked back to the other plane but I waited looking at what would happen, are we going to leave only Jagaban in Jos Airport? Because only his plane was remaining and the airport was empty. As we were boarding, I was going back whenever it reached my turn to board, I wasn't comfortable, I wanted to know if we would leave Asiwaju behind.

Then came some lights in the sky. Another plane was approaching, it landed, it was Asiwaju’s, Allah Akbar! Asiwaju came down again from the other plane, walked to the new one and we all left Jos without leaving Asiwaju behind!

Today, this Asiwaju now flies NGN AIRFORCE 001, he moves before anyone. To God be the glory.
