Today was @RBWFWebmaster Secondary Competition.

Well done Ayrshire’s Charlie Boax, winning it with her instrumental piece.
A successful day for her, RBWF President Neil McNair had to help her.

January 25th 1759, Robert Burns is born in Alloway and a cold wet windy night, fast forward 264 years and a bright sunny winters day greets Burnsians as they gather in Ayr to celebrate his birth, legacy & immortality in the minds of all. AABC President @infocassidy in attendance
The Ayrshire Association of Burns Clubs along with the rest of the country are sadden by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Our condolences to HM King Charles III, and all the Royal Family.
God Save The King
Ayr Burns Club were fantastic hosts and the post service lunch was wonderful what was needed before we went to Burns Statue Sq to lay our wreaths.
Thanks to all especially Kathleen Davey who pieced it all together and keep everything running smoothly.

On 16th of July 1796 Robert Burns wrote to James Gracie Esq., saying
“It would be doing high injustice to this place not to acknowledge that my rheumatisms have derived great benefits from it already.”
Sadly any benefits would be short lived and 5 days later at his home
The service at the Brow Well was poignant and emotive.
Nearer home we too marked this 226th anniversary with the Ayrshire Association Annual Church service on Sunday 17th July hosted by our good friends at Ayr Burns Club, in the historically significant Auld Kirk of Ayr.
Annual Schools Competition albeit a bit later, but great turn@out and delighted to have @RobertBurnsFed SVP and @southayrshire Depute Provost here to enjoy the day and present the prizes along side the President @James21rw
Well done #bethkerr our hard working schools convenor
“Our monarch's hindmost year but ane
Was five-and-twenty days begun
'Twas then a blast o' Janwar' win'
Blew hansel in on Robin.”
What a disappointment that once again on the Anniversary of the Bard we are still limited with what we can do and how we can celebrate.
I had so many plans to join with friends from across Ayrshire at suppers and events over this period and was looking forward to all these occasions.
Hopefully we can still meet at rearranged events, and for the two wreath laying events I was able to attend I commend both
On Saturday night the Lord Lyon granted Arms to @RobertBurnsFed in memory of Robert Burns.
Proud to have a hand signed copy displayed in my office at home!
