@katpip007 @lynchk16 I disagree with you because many people identify with some SIGs and that is a way for them to contribute to policy making, though I do agree that it should be regulated to an extent #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat
@SBoutouis @lynchk16 Although I agree that it should be regulated, I do believe that there is a point where regulation turns into censorship since lobbying is a form of political participation and free speech #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat
@lynchk16 2B: Lobbyists are organizations that try to influence policy making, usually through donating money to candidates or rallying support. I don't think they are well regulated because the only notable barrier are PACs.
@lynchk16 SIGs interact with the judiciary by submitting amicus curiae to the court in order to influence the outcome of each case. I'm thinking of attending UTD next year because it is a decent school for what I am planning on studying #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat
@lynchk16 The Iron Triangle describes the relationship between SIGs, policy makers & the bureaucracy. The actions of one influence the others in terms of the making & implementation of legislation. Policy makers have the greatest impact on society #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat
@lynchk16 SIGs use their money to influence policy makers to support their ideologies. I think SIGs should be able to donate to candidates since it is a form of political participation, but it should be regulated more to prevent corruption. #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat
Revolving door is when office holders get jobs in lobbies and vice versa. The prior occupation of most effective lobbyists are legislators. I don't think it is ethical because it gives some IGs a greater advantage than others. #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat
