1. Explore vs Exploit.

Lets start with a series of scenarios🤔

🎵 To optimise enjoyment of music: should you?

- Listen to a random playlist to find new music you might like?
- Listen to your favourite song?

A new champ comes out: what should you do ?

- Spam games on the new hero and learn how it works?
- Queue up, don’t ban it and hope that you play vs players learning it for more likely elo?

You are unsure what to build next during a game: what should you do?

- Check out buildpaths during the game to get a more optimal setup
- Focus your entire attention on playing the game as well as possible instead of the build

I think you’re starting to get the point. Our life is full of decisions between the “known” and the “undiscovered”, leaning too heavily to either side of the spectrum can lead us to undesirable outcomes. For example - always going to the same place to eat, maybe we never find our truly favourite restaurant. Minimising risk but minimising reward. Conversely always going on dates with new people may mean risking a depth of connection with a reasonable partner. Maximizing exposure, minimising depth.

So. Which strategy to pick and in what proportion? 1/x
