Letter to the editor in the @WSJopinion from @AZChamber’s @GlennHamer: “Neighboring states will start eating our lunch as businesses and people continue to flee high-tax California for friendlier tax climates.”
AZ has a business decision to make in Prop 208. Is a small, volatile bonus for K12 staff worth making AZ a top 10 high tax state? From @KevinMcCarthyAZ & @_jimrounds@AzGreatStrong https://t.co/uxScHME7o6
From @RJRobb: This is what is most important to understand about Proposition 208, the Invest in Ed initiative: It constitutes a gigantic gamble with Arizona’s economy. https://t.co/mgicdCdGC0
🚨“Without an annual inflation adjustment, Proposition 208 goes from bad to worse,” said @chad_heinrich, Arizona state director for @nfib_az. “This initiative should be known as ‘The Small Business Destruction Act.’"

"Proposition 208’s huge 77.7% tax increase adds insult to injury to small business job creators already reeling during unprecedented economic conditions. The proposal is terrible for a host of reasons, but its timing is even worse.”

👂📻Chamber CEO @GlennHamer on big 208 tax increase. "This tax would target our small businesses," and "Let's face it, we do not want to be compared to Calif." when it comes to sky-high tax rates. "It's the wrong plan for Arizona." (11:25 mark.)

Responsible Arizonans will vote #NoOn208. Prop 208 would raise taxes and reduce our state's competitiveness while #SmallBusinesses struggle to recover from the #COVID19 economic collapse. Learn more and join the 'no' campaign at https://t.co/z94VQyJYcB @AzGreatStrong
Important conversation📻👂@billyrobb33 and @RJRobb on damage Prop. 208 will inflict on small biz and economy. "Very detrimental effect" says Bob Robb. Walks through how, despite proponents' claims, tax wacks small firms that don't pay taxes on corportate code, but as individuals.
👂📻 @manopeople talks with Flagstaff's @JeffOravits about big tax increase: There's no accountability on how/whether these dollars will get to the classroom, no focus on outcomes. (28-min mark.) Big contrast w/ construct of Prop. 301. https://t.co/kRxru1jjlK
Prop 208 Tax Increase is the WRONG plan at the WRONG time. Small businesses will pay nearly double what big corporations pay for income tax, 8% vs. 4.9% Learn more at https://t.co/d3y7nbNMny Check out this YouTube video https://t.co/01WZVUYksf @AzGreatStrong#noon208
"The state's economic development prospects begin to look dim if Arizona voters approve a 77.7 percent income tax increase on the state's highest earners and small business proposed by the teacher's union." https://t.co/FHWgvhquA1 via @thecentersquare
.@edpco on the mark: "When relocation specialists put together their data, it will show that Arizona, instead of having a tax rate that was very competitive with other areas of the country, would have an income tax rate higher than all but 8 other states." https://t.co/20hGKmEqKl
Must read: "Unlike Arizona’s sales tax for education in Proposition 301, which demands that a portion of the money be used to reward performance, Proposition 208 has zero accountability measures."

@AZChamber Coming from OR, these groups took our already high taxes and raised them higher, driving many entrepreneurs (including me) out. AZ's pro-growth tax system brought me here & made it easier to launch a business. We should side with job creators, not out of state special interests!
In the world's freest country, people can move to avoid high taxes. Vote NO on Prop. 208's 77.7% tax increase and ensure Arizona remains a state people choose instead of flee. #NOon208
MOVING TO AZ: Residents and companies from out of state are flocking to AZ during the pandemic. Experts say people are leaving NY, CA & other states in droves in search for lower rent and taxes. Scottsdale & Chandler are at the top of this list for new residents. @muscularmoving
