@JBird_Anime@MarcoGrandFleet No it's the first time we heard the term 'Joy Boy', but the name Nika first appeared way later on Onigashima in the Wano arc.
@CM147143 If done right a fantasy world without racism could be a good way to show what a world like that would look like, like an inverted mirror effect on our own world.
And maybe people who experience racism (not me, it's just a guess) would like to go into a world where it isn't there
@SC_XJSPlays02 Yeah, Oda sees the problem with the trope but doesn't subvert it. Every time a woman must be rescued, her fighting is often of no consequence except showing she has a will to fight. And once a man (Sanji) has the 'damsel in distress' role, he really fights and has an active role.
@newworldartur Except if you're hungry for StrawHat content, only film 6 is interesting and offers something different.
Films 10-15 are the equivalent of good filler arcs but don't do much except pass the time. Gold is a good entry point.
The others are for completionists.
@schmonky_@hxhcoded I agree, he is maturing. But fixing your own mistake is more about not being a villain than being a hero. A hero goes out of their way to fix mistakes that don't concern them. Which Luffy does plenty, but not out of responsibility. He will be considered a hero by everyone tho.
@schmonky_@hxhcoded He couldn't be the freest man with all that weight on his shoulder.
However, his comment to Kaido about wanting a world where all people can eat shows to me that he knows what influence he can have on the future and maybe he will reconcile a little with the idea of being a hero.
@schmonky_@hxhcoded His actions are heroic, but his intentions aren't particularly. There is a sense of 'responsibility' in the concept of heroes, but not Luffy. I'm oversimplifying here but in short he does what he feels like, and it just so happens to be toppling fascistic regimes.
