Cucurella explained why he keeps his hair long and messy:
“My little son is autistic; I leave my hair long and unkempt so he can easily recognize me at the matches.”
Former Spain and Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos in a recent interview about the 2026 World Cup final between Spain and Argentina.
“I love Messi, yes he’s a genius,” Ramos said. “But him and the Argentine squad were really playing dirty in the final. The game and the officials were clearly supporting Argentina. They tried as much as they could to rig it, just like they did in the 2022 final. Thank God the Spanish team is different we rose above it and deserved the win.”
When pressed about Argentina’s controversial match against England earlier in the tournament, Ramos doubled down:
“The Argentine squad should have been suspended and stripped of their world titles after raising that flag and Enzo’s celebration. FIFA overlooked everything. There were so many calls that were not credited. It’s unfair. But I'm glad they lost".
🗣️ Luis de la Fuente:
“I’m so happy we won the World Cup. This is the happiest day of my life, thanks to Ferran Torres’ goal. But we also need to talk about the VAR and the referee. I have never seen a bigger robbery in my coaching career than this. It looked like they wanted Argentina and Lionel Messi to win it again so badly.
The referee was practically Argentina’s 12th man on the pitch. In the first half, there were several fouls that he ignored, but the worst was the challenge on Dani Olmo. Mac Allister tackled him with both feet, which is a red-card offense, but the referee and VAR ignored it.
There was also the challenge on Yamal, where a player stepped on his ankle from behind. The referee ignored it, and VAR didn’t intervene either.
Argentina should be ashamed of receiving such favoritism in a World Cup final. They had the officials on their side, but we were fully prepared for everything. In the end, football won.”
