Fela was one the most impactful people of his generation, he was an Economist as well
In his song, Overtake Don Overtake Overtake, released 1989, he explains, Savings, Minimum wage, Inflation, Foreign Exchange, and Consumption.
What i found interesting was that his friend the civil servant, did not have credit.
RIP Fela
"My friend wan come buy fan
Him dey sweat for him dey sleep for room
Him dey fall level of tree
The fan na seventy-five naira
My friend him dey follow salary
Him dey try to save and save and save
Every time he nearly buy the fan
Government go add ten naira more
Every time he nearly buy the fan
Government go start one activity
Till the fan reach two hundred naira
My friend nearly die, he never die
My friend he no wan die
Die-die no dey for him dictionary
For where? Huh...
Him dey try to save and save again
Him save for one year and six months
Inside cupboard
Under pillow
Under, under cooking pot
Inside socks
Under carpet
Him dey on his way to buy the fan
When alarm come blow
Government announce second tier
Everything come tear to pieces
Everything come expensive
Even water become expensive
Second bass, jare... pop!
Fan don become seven hundred naira
Me and my friend start to look ourselves
He remain small make my friend dey cry
Na laugh laugh he catch monkey
Na now he come understand him life
Enjoyment can never come him way
Na now him life dey go reverse
In Africa, him fatherland
One more time.."

Who’s in?
Read books.
Most of the problems people face with money, career, and life are not new. Someone struggled with it, studied it, and wrote the solution down decades ago.
Books compress experience. You get 30 or 40 years of someone else’s lessons in a few hours. That is why reading saves you time, money, and unnecessary mistakes.
If you want better results, borrow better thinking from people who have already been where you are trying to go.
"No progressive country of the world, especially those we are trying to emulate, like the US, the UK, etc, have ever elected anybody above 70 years of age since the inception of democracy in their countries…APC is threatening to inflict a 72-year-old grandfather on Nigeria as president" - Peter Obi
Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi's party leader, will contest the 2027 elections as an 80-year old.
I understand many are demotivated by the continuous fall in stock prices. That's why I always suggest to keep a portion of assets in cash. Instead of getting dejected, you can use opportunities like this to get more of what you want.
You are aware that I've been building a completely new portfolio for last many months. I've finished that task. Hopefully this is going to set my wealth creation journey for the coming years.
As I've mentioned, I shared only 3 companies whose name would appear in public domain due to my holding of more than 1% stake in these companies. The names of other companies would not be disclosed, as they are not mandatory public information due to my stake being less than 1%.
There have been queries on the exact stake in these 3 companies. Roughly it is as follows:
Beacon Trusteeship - around 1.7%
Freshara Agro- around 1.75%
Ravelcare- around 3%
As I always repeat, I don't offer any recommendation whatsoever on any stock.
I actively discourage you from following me as my risk bearing capacity is very high, which is neither possible nor advisable for vast majority of investors.
Since this information would be mandatorily in public domain, so only thought of sharing.
Please note that don't ignore cash in asset allocation because it earns nothing. It is not earnings which counts here. It is the value of opportunities you get during bad times.
Much of today's market upheaval stems from Japan. Look no further than 30-year Japanese bond yields: Up 27bps today (a 7-standard deviation move & the most in any day on record), the yield is now approaching 4%--unthinkable just a few years ago.
My 2026 forecast.
2026 is Trump’s economic endgame, a Main Street revival wrapped in a populist market surge. With impeachment on the line, he’s pushing cheap credit, capped lending rates, and $2,000 tariff rebates straight to consumers. The Fed stays dovish to protect growth, while the “Magnificent 7” drive the AI boom and crypto cements itself as the speculative outlet for excess liquidity. It’s the year Main Street, Wall Street, and blockchain markets all align, policy, technology, and capital moving in lockstep. Own productive assets, or get left behind.
The Venezuela plot thickens:
While Venezuela holds 303 BILLION barrels of oil reserves, much of this is HEAVY crude oil.
Texas and Louisiana also *happen* to have 6 of the LARGEST HEAVY crude oil refineries in the world.
What does this mean? Let us explain.
(a thread)
Smart people read books.
Read fiction. Read non-fiction. Read history. Read philosophy.
Take notes along the way because ideas will jump out. Dots will connect. Patterns will emerge.
You might never look at your notes again. But the magic of reading books is finding that one idea that could change your life.
Don’t let your intelligence slip away because you were too lazy to do something intellectuals have been doing for thousands of years.
Asset owners are winning.
For the last 2+ years, Charles Payne has called me the "youngest gold bull on Wall Street."
Just 5 weeks ago, this segment aired where I told @cvpayne why @KobeissiLetter called for $4,400/oz by year-end.
Today, gold is trading around $4,500/oz and President Trump is calling for interest rates to 1%.
2026 is going to be a historic year for asset owners.
4. The ones who refuse to grow
People who refuse to grow won't tell you because they probably don't know themselves.
But you can tell.
You know because they find comfort in being mediocre and have refused to evolve in mindset, habits, discipline, or accountability.
You know because they are comfortable with their outdated thinking and don't want to learn.
You know because they are comfortable blaming circumstances, people, or “the government” for everything; repeating the same lamentations over and over.
They reject feedback, avoid self-reflection, dislike being taught, and get defensive when confronted with the idea that they might need to change.
In 2026, pay attention to these patterns.
It's their choice to stay stuck but it's your choice to not let their comfort become your ceiling.

LIVING ABROAD!
Living abroad can be tricky but also rewarding. I have been greatly rewarded, and I will show you how.
First, I put God first. Since the day I entered the UK, I have been a church boy, and I am not ashamed of that. I pray, fast, study the word of God, and pay my tithes regularly. I have not regretted it. A lot of people struggle because they don’t have time for God. An African who is not prayerful is half dead and is waiting for his burial. There are powers. Hmmm
Second, from the day I entered, I knew what I wanted to do. I had my goals. I focused on it, and I achieved a lot. Many immigrants are not focused. They feed on gossip rather than the substance of life. If you live abroad and are focused, you will attain unbelievable heights. Believe me.
Third, I was careful about marriage. I had many options, including heavy-duty ladies, but I remembered my humble background and married a wife material rather than a fashion material. They are different.
Fourth, I chose my friends carefully. If you can’t add to me, we can’t be friends. I am always looking for whom to learn from.
Fifth, I learnt how to make and manage money. A lot of immigrants are wasteful. Manage your resources well.
Finally, for today, I managed my health and fitness well. I last tasted fizzy drinks or added sugar to my tea on the 20th of December 2010. I exercise a lot and eat healthily. The first thing people say is, “Dele, you look very young.” Many immigrants manage their sickness rather than their health.
My wife just called me: share and repost.

None of the problems that Nigeria had in 1983 has been solved in 2025.
None. Not one.
Not electricity. Not education. Not healthcare. Not housing. Nothing.
Just idiots passing power to each other.
A Practical Guide To Success In Thirty Months
Give yourself thirty months to become the person you have always wanted to be. Start by reinventing yourself by restructuring your thinking process. Time is your most valuable asset. Relationships follow it. And then money. If you can master these resources, you will have no masters!
Let's start with time. Please do not waste it. You can progress if you let people waste your money, because you can always make more. But it is almost impossible to get ahead if you let others waste your time. Why? Because you cannot make more time. Once it is gone, it is gone. So anyone who wastes your time must be a goner.
Mark and identify people who waste your time and unapologetically avoid them. When you honour time, time will make sure that you are honoured with enough time!
Then move on to money discipline. Start by not eating out at restaurants or ordering food via apps like Uber Eats, DoorDash, or Deliveroo for a year. Instead, cook all your meals at home. You really don't even need that much food.
Since you are an adult who is no longer growing, don't buy any new clothes for a year. Wash and reuse your old clothes. Cut out beer, wine, Coca-Cola, and other drinks, and just drink tap water for the next two and a half years. If that is boring, buy oranges and lemons and juice them. Not only will that be good for your health, but it will also be good for your wallet. Eliminate smoking, clubbing, and partying. Cancel your Netflix subscription and read books instead. Manage your old phone, and don't upgrade it.
Then, invest 50% of the money you have saved in the VOO, VFIAX, SPY, QQQ, VWO, SCHD, or any other well-regarded ETF. Invest 25% in a combination of Bitcoin, Chainlink, and Bitcoin Cash. Finally, invest the remaining 25% in stocks of the Magnificent Seven companies minus Tesla (Alphabet (Google)), NVIDIA, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple.
Don't worry if they go down on some days. It is immature and unrealistic to expect that your investments will always appreciate. The truth is, you will not make money overnight, but you can and will definitely make it over time. That is why I said give yourself thirty months.
After you do this, become a ghost for another year while your investments percolate. Go to work and return home to read and work out. You will be building your mind and body. And then, on Friday, go to the mosque for Salatul-Jumu'ah if you are a Muslim and return home. If you are a Christian, go to your regular service and return home. Then, you pray every morning and night.
Your religion is not as important as your devotion to God. And the best way to show dedication to your Maker is to treat others as you would like to be treated, irrespective of their religion, race, or ethnicity.
If you can sacrifice two years of your life for this discipline, which is approximately 2.5% of your life, I can almost guarantee you that you will live the rest of your life as the best of your life. You will conquer poverty with your investments. You will conquer sickness and counter the effects of ageing through your daily workouts. And your mind will stay sharp as a razor through your regular reading. And finally, you will draw closer to God.
These are practical steps to success that anybody can take to achieve results. Because if you want what you have never gotten, you must also do what you have never done.
If you like, scoff and insult. If God spares all our lives for the next two years, you will likely be in the same financial, mental, physical, and spiritual situation that you are in today.
