@agentofascent NHL relies on its big markets to draw ratings. If you look at the TNT/ESPN era so far, Vegas vs Florida had the lowest viewership. Running into a similar situation here with Vegas and Carolina.

@2G1CRangers Most teams would like to have more than one pair. Miller wasn’t perfect, but that assessment is hyperbole. Fans like to say the trade really including Gavrikov, but the reality is Drury and co liked Morrow enough to want him in that deal. Nothing from last season supported that
@2G1CRangers I’ve watched the games. He’s been solid, and is perfect in the Canes system. While the price tag was high, the Rangers don’t have mobile, puck moving defensemen to fill that void
TNT’s hockey coverage is head and shoulders better than ESPN, and it’s a shame that we are subject to bad play-by-play and muted crowd noise from ESPN when TNT’s coverage exists.
@pmang317 There is nothing ridiculous about it. When teams are going for it they trade picks and prospects, weakening the farm. All I pointed out was that finishing at the bottom of both leagues isn’t good. Shouldn’t bother you, it’s just a fact.
@pmang317 The big club made the playoffs those years. That’s when you’d expect the farm to be weaker. When the farm is weak and the big club is weak, that’s not a good recipe
