@glennkirschner2 How will Trump's guilty verdict affect his candidacy? Many stars disallow convicted felons from holding elective office... does this automatically disqualify him?
@TheRichFromCali You can't lock anyone up for the blanket "crime" of "destroying America." That's the MAGA mentality and the greatest rock musicians in history would be in jail if we could. We are better than yelling "lock her up!" for anything less than real, articulated crimes.
@TheRickWilson Why do Trump supporters refer to the 70+ million votes he got? Biden got more (hence the titles "President Biden" and "former President Trump"). Have we ever seen a 5-4 decision of SCOTUS reversed because the minority vote was almost a victory?
@AccountableGOP The DOJ doesn't haven't to prove Trump knew he lost the election. They can and probably will, but they don't have to. They only have to prove his actions violated the law. They can and will prove this as well.
We’re coming after you, @realDonaldTrump. We’re going to break you, humiliate you, defeat you at the ballot box, shatter your movement. You’ll spend your sorry last years weeping in a lonely prison cell, your hideous legacy a warning to future generations, your shame eternal.
@gtconway3d Trump isn't insane. He's calculating. He knows exactly what he's doing and the potential political capital to be gained. The problem for the judge is if she puts him in jail he gets what he wants; if she doesn't, he'll escalate.
@diamondsnjeans@BeschlossDC I think you've nailed it. He thinks it keeps him relevant, makes him a martyr for the MAGAts, and garners support from those on the fence. Every action against him supports the idea that he is being persecuted, not prosecuted. If he is jailed he'll see it as a win.
@MacLinx Aren't there several states that bar convicted feelings from holding elective office? I belive my home state of Kansas is one of them. Seems to me that is a bar to even being on the ballot in those states. I may be wrong but it sure as hell should be tested if he is convicted.
@EdKrassen Pence knew he was being asked to do something illegal, yet he continues to stop short if saying Trump deserves to be criminally charged for that illegal scheme. Doing the right thing one time during 4 years of looking away from wrong things doesn't make for a hero.
