Of course this nyanmiri is angry that Oyo will get forest guards. They are hoping Yorubaland becomes paralysed by insecurity. That's the wish of the average ibo. Somehow, this clown "missed" the news where the FG set up forests guards in Adamawa, Borno, Kebbi, Kwara, Niger, and Sokoto. What a despicable human being who will never be president!
What Our Pervasive Insecurity Requires: A Holistic not Reactive Approach.
In a hasty effort to be perceived as attentive and courageous, it is reported that President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of about 1000 forest guards for Oyo State. This is a further demonstration of poor leadership and attending to very serious governance and security issues with a reactive approach. It is the same reactive approach that led to the sudden removal of fuel subsidy and floating of the Naira that has caused irreparable damage to ordinary Nigerians and the economy.
While recruiting more security personnel for Oyo state and the country is important, it should be done in a more organised and well-thought-out manner. Presently, almost all the 36 states in Nigeria are experiencing different forms of insecurity, with Oyo, Plateau, Kwara, Kogi, Borno, Katsina, Anambra, Niger, Imo, and Sokoto being very alarming.
The question, such as the reactive approach of our President, is whether all the states will receive the same approval to recruit 1000 forest guards per state, that is 37, 000 forest guards for the 36 states and Abuja or is the recruitment approval based on the mood of the President? Moreover, with the approval for Oyo, what will happen to the Amotekun Corps that is trying its best to secure South-West Nigeria?. Will they be disbanded in Oyo state?
The pervasive insecurity we currently have is directly related to the failure of our ecosystem, particularly leadership. It is only failure in leadership that can lead to the death of over 10,000 innocent Nigerians since 2023, and Nigeria is ranked among the top-most terror-affected countries in the world.
Addressing our insecurity situation requires a holistic or what can be described as an ecosystem approach. With failure in leadership, there is failure in unifying our dear nation, failure in industrialisation, failure in harnessing our abundant resources in agriculture, minerals, tourism, water, sports and even oil and gas to effectively generate required revenue, growth and particularly jobs for our exponentially growing youth population.
A New and Productive Nigeria will be POssible, and we will be OK! -P0
A Fulani man went on TikTok complaining that he tried to book a ticket at GUO Transport to travel to the East, but was told they had no bus going there.
They directed him to GIG.
He bought a ticket at GIG, but when it was time to board, the other passengers refused to enter the same bus with him, saying they won’t share a bus with a Fulani man. The company apologised and refunded his money.
He then cried out: “See what they are doing to us in our own country.”
I simply replied: “Should we all start setting up cameras and talking about what Fulani people have been doing to us in our own country too?”
Sentiments aside, I don’t blame the passengers. Self-preservation is key. When it reaches your own turn, no talk o.
How can Peter Obi who could not effectively address the sit-at-home situation in the South East and has been criticized for strongly supporting IPOBs in his region claim to have the solution to Nigeria's security challenges? Perhaps the focus should first be on demonstrating practical solutions at the regional level before seeking to tackle national security issues.

OYO STATE POLICE COMMAND DEBUNKS FALSE REPORT OF DEATH OF ABDUCTED SCHOOLCHILD, WARNS PURVEYORS OF MISINFORMATION
The Oyo State Police Command has observed with grave concern the circulation of a malicious and entirely unfounded report alleging that one of the schoolchildren abducted during the recent incident at Ahoro-Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area, has died while in captivity.
The Command categorically states that the report is false, misleading, mischievous, and without any factual basis whatsoever. At no time has the Oyo State Police Command, nor any other recognized security agency involved in the ongoing rescue efforts, confirmed such a development. The publication is a fabrication carefully crafted by individuals whose objective is to arouse unnecessary public sentiment, create panic, spread fear, and undermine ongoing security operations.
It is particularly disturbing that the authors of the report deliberately employed emotional narratives, speculative claims, and unverified accounts in a calculated attempt to manipulate public opinion and generate anxiety among residents. Such conduct not only constitutes a disservice to responsible journalism but also advances the very objectives of criminal elements and terror merchants who thrive on fear, uncertainty, and public distress.
The Command wishes to assure members of the public that concerted efforts by security agencies remain ongoing and that all operational activities concerning the incident are being pursued with the utmost professionalism, diligence, and confidentiality. The dissemination of false information at such a critical time has the potential to jeopardize ongoing efforts, cause unnecessary trauma to affected families, and mislead the general public.
Consequently, the Oyo State Police Command strongly cautions individuals, bloggers, social media influencers, online content creators, and media platforms against the publication or amplification of unverified security-related information. The indiscriminate sharing of false reports, particularly those capable of inciting fear or causing public disorder, is irresponsible and unacceptable.
The Command therefore appeals to all media houses, bloggers, and online content creators to exercise professionalism, responsibility, and due diligence in the discharge of their duties. They must refrain from becoming unwitting accomplices to those whose stock-in-trade is misinformation, fearmongering, and the deliberate distortion of facts for ulterior motives.
Members of the public are advised to disregard the said publication in its entirety and rely solely on information disseminated through official channels of the Nigeria Police Force and other authorized government agencies.
The Oyo State Police Command remains steadfast in its commitment to public safety and security and will continue to keep residents appropriately informed of verified developments as circumstances warrant.

Man Bags 12-Year Jail Term for Stealing N64m in Lagos
Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Special Offences Court , Ikeja, Lagos, on Friday, June 5, 2026, convicted and sentenced one Chukwuemeka Udezuka to 12 years’ imprisonment for stealing a total sum of ₦64,060,000 (Sixty-Four Million, Sixty Thousand Naira).
The judgment followed the court’s finding that the defendant was guilty of a four-count charge of stealing filed against him by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Udezuka, alongside his company, Mezu Connection Investment Limited, was accused of collecting funds from four victims under the pretext of helping them convert naira to United States dollars at the official Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) exchange rate.
According to the prosecution, after receiving the money, the defendant allegedly disappeared and became unreachable, leaving the victims unable to recover their funds.
The defendant was arraigned on January 31, 2024, on a four-count charge bordering on stealing, contrary to Sections 278 and 285(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
One of the charges stated:
“That you, Chukwuemeka Udezuka and Mezu Connection Investment Limited, sometime in 2022, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly converted to your own use the sum of ₦28,000,000 (Twenty-Eight Million Naira), being the property of Chizoba Benson Chiegwu.”
Another count alleged:
“That you, Chukwuemeka Udezuka and Mezu Connection Investment Limited, sometime in 2022, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly converted to your own use the sum of ₦17,360,000 (Seventeen Million, Three Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira), being the property of Hojoli Augustine Okechukwu.”
During the trial, prosecuting counsel, I.O. Daramola, called seven witnesses and tendered several documents, including the defendant’s extra-judicial statements, bank correspondence, and account records, all of which were admitted in evidence by the court.
Delivering judgment, Justice Oshodi held that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. The court described the defendant’s actions as “premeditated” and deserving of appropriate punishment.
The judge consequently sentenced Udezuka to three years’ imprisonment on each of the four counts, bringing the total sentence to 12 years. The sentences are to run consecutively.
During allocutus, the convict pleaded for leniency, expressing remorse for his actions and asking the court for a second chance. His counsel, Emeka Ezeobi, also appealed to the court to temper justice with mercy.
However, Justice Oshodi held that the seriousness of the offence warranted a custodial sentence. The court further ordered the convict to make full restitution to all four victims from the date of judgment and to file an affidavit of compliance within 90 days.
In addition, the court imposed financial penalties on Mezu Connection Investment Limited, ordering the company to pay a fine of ₦500,000 on each of the four counts.

He was known as "Manti" to some, a nightmare to many communities, and now, to the VCRU, he is under arrest.
For an extended period, Umar Abubakar, also known as "Manti," led a kidnapping syndicate that targeted Okuta, Ilesha-Baruba, Tabida, Taberu, and nearby communities in Kwara North.
Families lived in fear, and communities remained cautious while "Manti" operated with apparent impunity. The Kwara State VCRU ultimately apprehended him.
On 1st June 2026, operatives attached to Okuta Divisional Headquarters conducted a routine raid in the Tabida area, Baruten LGA. Suspicious persons were apprehended and transferred to the VCRU for detailed profiling.
Intelligence efforts identified the gang leader, and subsequent operations resulted in his arrest. Two AK-47 rifles with fully loaded magazines were recovered.
These weapons, previously used to threaten communities, are now secured and permanently removed from criminal possession.
"Manti" and his associates are in custody and are providing information that is helping investigators uncover more details about the network.
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, established the VCRU as a specialized unit to identify, pursue, and dismantle the most dangerous criminal networks in Nigeria. Today, in Kwara North, the unit fulfilled this mandate.
For the communities affected by this syndicate, "Manti" is now in custody and the threat has ended.
