This is an utterly shocking story. 'Lolita,' a young Saudi woman who was forcibly married at 11 and has been the victim of years of horrific gender-based violence, was kidnapped by agents likely linked to the Saudi embassy from her flat in Melbourne. Despite having applied for asylum, she was taken against her will on a flight out of Melbourne airport with no questions asked, where the airport's CCTV camera footage was mysteriously "destroyed."
The @AusFedPolice and Border Force have serious questions to answer here. Given Saudi's well-documented history of kidnapping it's own female citizens and extraditing them back against their will, any female Saudi asylum seeker should automatically have a red flag against their name for further checks should they present at the border.
Australia owed this vulnerable woman protection, and we failed her. Profoundly. We should do all we can to remedy this by offering her PR, as @alisonbattison suggests, and attempting to track her down and provide assistance via our embassy in Riyadh.
Transnational repression is here, it is real and it's happening unchecked on our doorsteps. Iran, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and more. Australia needs to get serious about tackling this, or we are all less safe.

Hey @VicGovDH can you explain why has your PH advice has changed from January to now ? Are we not asking people to talk to their GP’s about antivirals and what happened with asymptomatic transmission ?
