Gentle reminder:
Block out time away from the screen.
Force yourself if you have to.
Read a book for once. Hit the coffee shop. Do anything that gives your mind space to process all of the noise you've accumulated.
You will feel the immense difference in mental clarity.
The primary reason people don't achieve big goals is because they don't realize that the only source of truth is making mistakes. They soak up advice and theory, expecting it to be an exact match to their mind, experience, and situation just to fail once and give up completely.
The average person can’t watch a two minute video anymore without checking notifications, scrolling comments, or opening another app. Every platform is competing for your attention, and the result is people losing the ability to focus for more than a few minutes. The scary part is most people don’t even notice it’s happening. Being able to concentrate is becoming a competitive advantage because so few people can actually do it anymore.
i'm in love with this quote:
"if you're persistent, you'll get it. if you're consistent, you'll keep it. and if you're grateful, you'll attract more of it."
Im jealous of people who can keep track of all the technical sides of animation. It builds such good fundamentals.
I basically just do everything intuitively and pose to pose. It causes inconsistencies but i also think its important to impliment it to create natural movement.
At some point, you have to stop letting your depression win. You have to stop sitting in the same room, replaying the same thoughts, waiting for something to change. Nobody’s coming to save you, it’s on you to save yourself. Get up. Take a shower. Go for a walk. Work on that dream you’ve been putting off. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just start! You owe it to yourself to fight for a better version of you, even on the days when you don’t feel like it. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but every time you get up instead of giving u that’s progress.
Confidence doesn't come from believing in yourself. It comes from having done the uncomfortable thing enough times that your nervous system stops flagging it as an emergency. Because nothing is actually hard, it's just unfamiliar.
Tom Cruise revealed why he never tells anyone his goals
"sometimes you don't share your dreams, your goals with people"
pause at 0:19
"because sometimes it's so outrageous."
"you don't want to hear their comments."
he had a list of goals that were too crazy to say out loud.
he accomplished every single one.
then one night on set he couldn't sleep, lying there tensed up, trying to memorize everything -
pause at 1:20 - the moment he realized something.
"I just started laughing."
"I can only do the best I can."
that's the whole framework.

I'm a big fan of the "GPS Theory" when you miss a turn, your GPS doesn't judge you, it recalculates. No matter how many detours you take, it finds another way forward. Life works like that too. You'll make mistakes, but your destination doesn't vanish. The route just changes.
