Tutorial for new players:

When you first start playing, you start with nothing, and can scavenge the environment for loot, weapons, ammo.

Spawn located are the most heavily looted areas - when the server resets every 12 hours, these areas will be full of loot and have vehicles available.

If you can't find loot, head to the trader outpost - the giant ship, where you can usually find things.

Try and find a vehicle. the map is huge and running around on foot will get tiring quickly. If you can't find a vehicle, you can buy one on the https://t.co/8e9rGGei0K

Bandages stop bleeding. Blood packs restore blood level. Keep an eye on this to make sure you are not bleeding out.

Food/drink restore hunger/thirst level.

Medkits restore health.

Drop/Move/Use items inside your inventory

Once you have sufficient gear and a vehicle, you can start doing missions and earn credits and loot. You can earn credits by killing enemy players and NPCs.

There are 5 types of missions: kill, delivery, scout, race and collect - kill missions as the highest risk/reward.

New players should start with delivery, scout, race and collect missions, but remember, you are on a time limit before the missions disappear, and are competing against other players to complete them.

You can also ambush other players at mission waypoints to attack them and steal their loot/vehicles (purchased vehicles cannot be stolen)

you can bank credits in ATMs. Until you do, your credits are not safe and other players can kill or rob you.

After you have banked your credits, they will be secure, and you can use them to buy gear at vending machines or traders that will be available to you every time you respawn.

You can store weapons in a weapons storage.

You can store all other loot in regular storage.

Team killing is not allowed, except in marauder faction. If you shoot friendly players or NPC's, the NPC's will kill you very quickly.

You will survive longer in a group. Team up with other players in your faction and carry passengers in your vehicle.

Welcome to Decimated: A Survival Guide for New Players

If you enjoy survival games like DayZ, Escape from Tarkov, or Arma Wasteland, you're going to feel right at home with Decimated. It’s a gritty, open-world survival experience that starts you off with nothing but your wits and determination.

No Tutorials, Just Discovery

In the current open alpha, there are no step-by-step tutorials. That’s intentional! The goal is for you to dive in, explore, and figure out how to survive in this post-apocalyptic world. Learn where to find supplies, how to manage hunger, thirst, health, and blood loss, and how to scavenge for essential items like ammo, bandages, and fuel.

Teamwork is highly encouraged—work with other players to overcome challenges and make life in this harsh environment a little easier.

Exploration is Key

Weapons, vehicles, and even jetpacks won’t be handed to you. They are rewards for curious players who venture out and uncover them naturally. Part of the thrill is figuring out how to use these tools on your own, adding a real sense of accomplishment to your journey.

Not a Hand-Holding Game

Decimated isn’t a casual game. It’s designed for players who enjoy challenges and aren’t afraid to figure things out the hard way. Survival is the core of the experience, and every session teaches you something new. The more you play, the better you’ll become at navigating the dangers of this world.

Mission Objectives and Player Interaction

Mission waypoints provide objectives for everyone on the server. Some will spawn close to you, while others might be farther away. Veteran players often complete missions faster, but don’t let that discourage you. Many experienced players are happy to lend a hand, share gear, give you a ride, or help you survive.

Expect to Fail—And Learn

You will die. You will lose gear. That’s part of the journey. But with each death, you’ll learn valuable lessons about survival and avoiding danger. Over time, you’ll grow into a capable survivor, ready to take on anything this world throws at you.
