Fr though, it's so hard when it happens and most people don't talk about it happening to them, so sometimes you question everything you thought about your own skill. But it's not uncommon and happens when you start to learn new things and focus on new aspects of an art form.

There's advice to put your piece aside for a few months before edits, but I tend to remember everything no matter how long of a break I take, down to specific lines. I usually work on other books or projects to make sure my skill is progressing as I edit.Does anyone else do this?
